If you have a valid copy of xp pro, then just insert the disk and boot from it when asked. when you are asked about an install, choose a clean or new install and everything will be erased and you will start over. Be advised that you will need to get the lifebook drivers burned to a disk before you start.

Your problem seems to be from the keyboard. Even if it looks good if the keyboard tape is out of whack or some key is no longer working, it can happen that you say, so I change the keyboard.

Place a short on the battery holder's + and - tabs for a minute or two. It has to be on long enough to discharge a capacitor on the motherboard. This will delete the bios password only.

Your display setting does not match.You need to setting the display right way.Or you uninstall and install the VGA (graphics)driver again,and simply restart the PC.

Set the screen-resolution to 640-by-480, to see if the blinking stops. If it does, set the screen-resolution to 800-by-600, to see if it this higher resolution is supported. Also, try 1024-by-768.

lcd inverter are commonly found at the bottom of the LCD screen after you'd remove the edges cover. try to remove the VGA cable from the laptop and see if the screen will blink or flash. thanks
