Tv does not come on and the power is on it also
It seems
that your unit has some sort of PSU
fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This
happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man
and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical
switchmode Power Supply problem.

Hi,
Question shows its JVC AV-56WP74 rear projection TV and symptom shows tv got convergence out chip failure problem.
If you know soldering parts in circuit board then replace two big black ICs STK392-110 mounted on aluminum heat sink in convergence section.
Required ICs are available in
Part Store and if you fee uncomfortable working in TV, local tech will help you to get it fixed.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

JVC AV56wp74 convergence. Resistor before ICs?
It's recommended to replace all the defective parts first because if you only replace the defective resistor, it might burnt again if the convergence IC is shorted internally. I would also suggest to measure the other low value resistors with multimeter.
Need to converge the red gun
convergence ICs are STK ICs example STK392-110 they will have part number on them they are big black ICs Call Mats Electronics for Parts 1-800-628-1118
Convergence IC + Resistor swap = Blue light clicking noise
Good Day,
It sounds like you may have slightly diconnected a cable. Look for the large RED cable/wire that goes to the Blue tube and make sure that they are very secure. When doing this make sure the TV is off.
Good Luck, BIG IRISH.
Turns on has blue light thats it no sound or
convergance amps are failing and need to be replaced along with the 2 burnt resistors not a bad job they are locate on a smaal board in front behind the front panel on a large heat sink you can take the board out and work on it
I got the TV used.
There could be two reasons for not getting any audio.
Firstly. the speakers got disconnected. That you would know better if the TV was subjected to shocks/ thuds etc. Otherwise go to
Secondly. The Audio IC/module is busted. To confirm this, please remove the back cover and take a peep inside. Can you find some bulged or burst capacitors. Capacitor is a round cylindrical thing that keeps jutting out the printed circuit board (pcb). If found then these have to be desoldered and then replaced by exactly the same specification ones. If you cant see any then maybe a professional help would be more appropriate. If the audio module was not out then there would have been some sound some where as you have tried all possible methods of getting audio.
There is a curveture in the screen in the upper
Most likely the Convergence IC's along with bias resistors have gone bad. It's not an expensive repair but I would take care of it as soon as possible. Usually in the area of $250.00 will take care of it.
