Look to see if it has a switch on it that says floor /carpet. as it will raise the head enough for more clearance under it.Don't allow it to keep slipping, it will burn up the rubber band that drives the brush.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing. While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all. The brushroll is turned on and off br rotating the round lever

With a small torx driver (not the folding kind, the screw driver kind) and some patience, the belts can be replaced pretty easily. They run about 10 bux for both (you may as well change both). Dyson, like most manufacturers, makes it seem difficult in the hopes that you'll send it back to them for repair, where they will most likely sell you the whole clutch assembly because its easier to replace than fiddling with belts.

Replace both filters and clean out the dust bin and cyclone chamber real well.

Needs a new battery.Thats what it sounds like...Your battery is.not working correctly. Replace the battery and it will more than likely solve your problem...Hope I Help..
