WD40 is a bad choice as a lubricant. The "WD" stands for "Water Displacement" - while it is an oil and will lubricate, it's mainly designed to drive out water from a wet ignition, rusty joints etc. It also has a tendency to attract and hold dirt/dust.Silicone spray lubricants are the best option. I often find when I buy something for the kids, the moving parts don't move as freely as they should. Spraying silicon lubricant right into the joints (hinge, axel, etc) and working the joint vigorously usually works.

There should be a fabric strip that goes through 4 places on the jumperoo, under the seat part, and that fastens underneath by fitting over a small metal lever. Put the seat upside down, pull the front straps through the bottom a little to get some slack, pull the metal levers on each side forward (there is a small catch they are placed in when the jumperoo is in use; you'll have to move them up and forward to get them out of place and maneuver them so you can reposition the straps) and pull the straps off the metal levers. You can then choose the next tightest setting for the straps and push the metal levers back into place.

It's been a while since I have dealt with these. There is usually an off switch located along the swing bar check to make sure it is in the on position and that the switch itself hasn't been disconnected. Double check to be sure the swing is level and the safety isn't stopping it from working.

4 "D" cell batteries are located in a compartment in the swing motor housing. This is the unit at the top of the triangular swing assembly.
