Blinking Green Light on Mitsubishi DLP 52525

Even if you replace the capacitors already mentioned in thisthread, you may still suffer from the Green LED of Death. Here is how Bronson279 helped me resolve theproblem. But note that it involvesadding a switch to your tv set and requires a bit of soldering ability and thewillingness to void your warranty. BUTyou can save big $$$$ on sending the set out for repair. Here is my solution- After replacing several bad capacitors (you can get replacement capacitorsfrom Mouser electronics on line by the way.. be sure to order the same capacitancevalues and same or higher voltage rating and be sure they are rated for 105degrees C.) I still had the dreaded G.L.O.D. Note that the first time I plugged it inafter taking it apart the G.L.O.D was not there and it powered upnormally. But when I had to unplug theset to fully re assemble it, it came back. The issue is caused by both the FMT board (formatter) andthe DM (Digital Module) board’s microprocessors tying to establishcommunications with each other. Somehow a race condition gets started with eachthinking that the other board needs to be reset and then starting the bootprocess over again. You need to interrupt this cycle with a switch. Buy a DPDT switch from radio shack (or MouserElec…) and again take apart your electrical chassis (If you have it apartreplacing bad caps you might as well add the switch or you may end up having todisassemble the whole thing again.) Onthe FMT board along the top edge near the input connector side of the chassisthere is a four wire connector labeled “FC”. It has two black wires and 1 orange and one Brown wire. Leave the black wires connected and cut the orange and brown ones about aninch from the connector. Solder four 12inch wires onto the ends (one on the source side brown, source side orange andone on the connector side brown and connector side orange) use heat shrink tubing to cover the solderconnection points. (If you can’t get tubing, then electrical tape will do, butmake sure the joints can’t short out to each other or the electrical chassis.) Now take the brown and orange wires from theconnector side and solder those to the middle two terminals of the DPDT switch(one on each side not both to both terminals) Then pick one side of the outsideterminals of the switch and solder the source side brown and orange wires tothe terminal across from the same color (brown across from brown and orangeacross from orange) See the diagram below. The idea is to connect the wires normally when the switch is closed andbreak the connection when the switch is thrown the other way. Before solderingthe wires to the switch add a piece of heat shrink tubing to wire so that youcan cover the solder point up after it is assembled. 45186c7.jpgNow re-assemble the electrical chassis and route the switch/wiresoutside the chassis (I snipped a hole along the edge of the top fan shield toget the wires out.) and put it back in the TV. You need to also get the switch to the outside of the TV somehow (Idrilled a ½ inch hole in the plastic cover to snake the switch through but youcan do it however you like)Here is how to use it- From a fresh plug in- throw the switch to the OPEN position (the wiresare not connected) plug in the TV, the green LED should stop blinking after 60secs like it is supposed to. Once it stops, flip the switch the other way sothe wires are connecting. Hit the powerbutton. The TV should turn on- your done! Yeah! From a plugged in, hmmm my power must have gone out, state. Assuming you have the GLOD, flipthe switch to the open position, hit the reset button on the front of the tv,wait for the blinking to stop, flip the switch back closed and turn the TV onnormally… Again you are done… Note that the first time you turn on the TV you may have toflip the switch the other way (if the TV won’t turn on even without a blinkingLED) This means that the switch was open and you need to have it closed to getit to work. If you tried turning on theTV with the switch open, start over by following the reset button procedureabove.Note this is much easier to do than it sounds. Also note that it helps if you have therepair manual. Its titled V26 RepairManual –full This is nice to havebecause it has a wiring interconnect diagram also which details all theconnector placements

Bulb goes out after a few minutes

The ballast for the bulb is the culprit. That is the circuit board directly wired to the bulb. You can get a replacement on line at: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy It's not difficult to change it yourself .

Seems to be the inverter board that controls the bulbs! With the TV on if you shine a torch at the screen can you see a faint picture? If so it is the inverter board that needs replacing!

Error code 35 shows DM fan failure, chassis fan.where is this located in tv . i heared there are 3 of them

Yes, there are three. The chassis fan, the exhaust fan and the fan for DMD. The chassis fan is going to be mounted behind an intake air filter on the right side of the cabinet from the rear view. The tv keeps shutting down

i unplugged the tv , turned the lamp switch to off . I left it unplugged for a few hours . I then plugged the tv back in , hit the reset button , located on the front bottom left . I waited for the timer light to stop blinking , then turned the lamp switch to the on position . I turned the power on to the tv . i heard the fan kick on , this time there was not a dragging sound . the screen lit up and i have not had a problem since yesterday . i think that the problem started because the tv had been left on for too long , I know that what i have done is only a temperary fix . but as long as I dont forget to turn the tv off , i should not have a problem

Repair dead pixels?

Dead pixels can not be repaired. The model# WD-52525 you provided is for a DLP TV. If you are seeing white dots on the screen it is due to a bad DMD chip or light engine. Unfortunately, it is not a cheap fix. Good luck www.aaatvservice.com

1999 toshiba CZ36T1 blacks out for hours then comes back on.

Hi Terrence Probably bad connections in the lamp base. Heat damaged or corroded or Over temperature sensor tripped. When it goes out next, Bump it or Tap it to see if its mechanical contact problem. That will help diagnose where the problem is Good Luck

Location of reset button on a WD65737

Right next to the other controls on the TV, it is recessed so you will need a paper clip or ball point pen to press it.

I have a mitubishi ws-55313 with a monitor link DVI connection and I have tried to convert that to hdmi for a cable DVR but it doesn't work any ideas?

The monitor link is not a standard DVI connection, it was used to connect a Mitsubishi HD set top box. You can connect your cable DVR using component video cables and get HD that way, up to 1080i but not 1080p

Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV popped, bad picture and vibrates

The pop was a high voltage arc of electricity that blew some vital components on the main circuit board. The unit is of no use now. Repairs are far more than replacing the TV.

I have a Mitsubishi WD52631 that seems to have intermittent problems turning on

Ballasts were sometimes problems with this set, but I also ran into problems with lamp thermal sensor. It's a small rectangular device sort of cream color and about 1/8th X 3/16th X 3/4 inch in size with lead coming out of one end. Also check safety interlock switch, which is actuated by lamp access cover being properly closed.
