The best way, in my experience, is literally disassembly. Pull the back off of the television and be very aware of the different ribbons connecting PCB's. Note where everything was plugged in (take pictures if you must), and find where the built-in DVD player is mounted (should be attached to the back cover). Remove the player and disassemble. It's generally fairly intuitive. You should be able to reduce it into a pile of parts and get your DVD out!

Word to the wise: I'm an electronic service technician, and I have seen a good many of these built-in DVD players fail. Actually, they all tend to fail within a year. They are also 30.00 units. No 30.00 unit has ever been even close to a good piece of equipment. That said, don't replace the internal DVD drive. Just buy a component player.
