My deskjet came with disk d1600 series it should have had d1660

Hello, Your HP Deskjet D1660 printer belongs to the HP Deskjet D1600 printer series. That means, the disk you have is for all the printers of the D1600 family, including yours (D1660), so you will not have any problem with the software it includes.

Error c0840001

I would recommend first unplugging the device from both the rear of the machine and the wall outlet it is plugged into for thirty seconds. Plug the machine back in and see if the error message returns.

Was cleaning the Printer and a rubber part came

hi those rubber parts are made to save the cartridge heads and save catrridge from drying ink problem when not in use. There are 2 rubbers ,one is for the colour cartridge and other is for the black. The difference between both rubber parts is that, if you see closely then the rubber part which is made for the black cartridge will have one side bigger than the other, and if you see the rubber holder for the colour cartridge then that will have equal ends on both sides( i mean the holders) Now you have to place the rubbe rparts back into the printer properly So keeping the printer door in front of you ,and by opening it , you will see at the left side of the printer, there are 2 chambers made , the first one from the right is for the black cartridge and the other one is black which will touch the wall of printer . If you have problem finding it then manually bring the printer carriage i.e where you place your cartridges and push it towards the left of the printer . At the end you will see that there is a place just below the cartridges heads where you have to fix those rubber parts.
So after finding the location , remove the cartridges and fix the rubber parts there, remember first one for the black cartridge which will have unequal ends and the oher for the colour cartridge
take care to see that when you are putting the rubber part for the black cartridge then the longer end comes to the right side, so that when cartridge head rest in it , then it is totally blocked from air
similarly for the other one,in the other rubber part which is to be installed at the extreme left u will not have any problem as it has equal ends, take care to see that rubber parts are installed well as when cartridge heads will rest in it then u will not see any gap between the two.
I hope this solves your problem
