It sounds like you have interference, try removing the uhf ant from the back of rec and promgram it straight from there. you can also hookup "bunny ears or a pigtail coax to the uhf ant port to increse uhf signal. also make sure the uhf ant is standing straight up.

Dish remote stays in vcr mode

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I would be happy to help with any remote issues you're experiencing. Normally if the remote is stuck on VCR mode you would need to try replacing the batteries first. Once you have replaced the batteries you are going to want to press and hold down the SAT button until it lights up red and flashes after you release. This should put your remote back in SAT mode. If this does not resolve your issue you may need to readdressing the remote to the receiver. I will list the instruction here for you to do so. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions please let me know!

Instructions for addressing the remote to the receiver
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver or by pressing the power button once and the channel up button once on the front of the receiver.
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button.
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Dish Network 721 dvr remote sound volume problems

Hello, it sounds like you may need a replacement remote. Normally if the volume button was not working at all you would probably just need to readdress the remote to the TV but in this case the remote does work sometimes. Try changing the batteries if you have not already done so. If you have changed the batteries and are still experiencing this issue you will need a replacement remote. I would be happy to look into getting a remote sent out to you. Please email me directly at [email protected] with either your name and phone # on the account or the account #. Thank you.

Light for sat will come on remote, but will not

First I would check to make sure you have fresh batteries. If it still doesn't work with new batteries try to re-address your remote to your receiver and tv.

For the receiver:
  1. Go to System Info screen
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

For the TV:

Would need to know what kind of TV it is. The following link will help you address the remote to the TV. Click the remote codes hyperlink in Step 1 to get to the codes.

SAT light stays lit but no functionality.new

beavs72,

If the Sat button stays lite with no function to control the receiver, either the Sat button is stuck or the remote has gone bad, especially if you already changed the batteries. You can call 1-800-333-3474, speak with Tech Support and if needed, they can send a new remote. I hope this helps.

Guest,

If you are not getting a picture on your TV, check to see which light on the remote lights up when you press the "Select" button. If anything button other than the "Sat" button lights up, the remote is not in satellite mode. Pressing and releasing the "Sat" button on the remote will put the remote back in satellite mode. I hope this helps.

No communication between receiver and remote

amandaharwoo,

The first thing I would do, if you haven't already, is replace the batteries in the remote. The lights will still illuminate if the batteries are low but won't perform the remote functions. If that doesn't fix the problem, the remote may need to be readdressed to the receiver. I have provided the steps below. If you have further problems, please respond to the site.

  • Remote: All Other Remotes
    1. Go to System Info screen
    2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
    3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
    4. Press the pound (#) button
    5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Took apart remote and little white tab fell off.

artisyicnell,

Are you still having problems with your remote? If so, there is a tab at the bottom of the remote that send a signal to the receiver box. This tab slides in at the bottom of the remote. Removing the battery cover will give you access to the area where the tab snaps in. I hope this helps.
