My TI-30XB WONT CALCULATE INVERSE COS OR INVERSE

Does it refuse to do so or does it give an error message?Three common errors:
  1. Not having the correct angle unit. Wrong result, No error message
  2. Confusing reciprocal of sine (1/sin(x) with arc sine (x) ,sin^-1(x). Confusing the reciprocal of cosine, 1/cos(x) with arc cosine (cos^-1(x)). Wrong result, No error message
  3. Taking the argument of the inverse sine and/or inverse cosine functions outside the interval [-1,1]. This gives a domain error.

Grandaughter gave me her TI-81. I replaced all

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

Mem cleared Changed out the batteries and received a messege mem cleared and nothing will work.

Follow this steps to resolve this problem:1. Press ON to turn calcilator on2. Press 2nd and then press + key button. TI- 81 displays RESET menu3. Press 2 to select the RESET, the second item in the RESET menu. The display shows the message Mem cleared. Press CLEAR to clear the screen If you cannot see anything on the screen, you may need to adjust the graphing TI- 81 calculator contrast: -To darken the screen, press and release 2nd key, and then press and hold up-arrow key until the display is sufficiently dark - To lighten the screen, press and release 2nd key, and then press and hold down-arrow key until the display is sufficiently light

Adjust the screen contrast. Turn the calculator on. Press and release the 2nd key. Press and hold the down-arrow key to lighten the screen. If you go too far, use the 2nd and up-arrow keys to darken it.
