how do i find the negative log on a TI-30Xa
Hi,
Ex: calculate -log(15.32)
You can also try 15.32 [LOG] (-) [=]. Try to veriufy it on your calculator.
Here is a picture of the change sign
Hope it helps

can you please help me how to put it in simplest form on my calculator for ex Sqrt (39*12) =6sqrt 13
I do not believe that the calculator is capable of displaying results with radicals. IF its is capbale of doing so, it will always display the radical expression in its simplest form.

using
Come on now....there are dedicated "square" and "square root" keys on the TI-30XA....
Enter your number e.g. 4, then press the "root x" key to get 2...
Press "x squared" key to get the square of 2 = 4
There's the even more useful "y to the power x" key and it's inverse "xth root of y" key.
E.g. Enter 2, then press the "y to the power x" key, then 5, then =, answer is 32 (2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2). Starting with 32, pres 2nd then the "y to the power x" key, then 5, then =, answer is 2, the 5th root of 32....

Hello,
I am a senior citizen and have just returned to college. I have the above calculator and am wondering how I can solve an algebra problem with it so I won't have to do it by hand. Let's say the problem is 2(x-4) -5x = -5. Can anyone show me how to do this with the TI calculator above? I sure would appreciate it. I need all the help I can get. I haven't did algebra in 45 years........
Thanks a lot,
Ed
Hello,
Sorry this calculator cannot solve equations. It does not have the program. It does not know how to do those things. However it can calculate. Before you can use the calculator you must prepare all yourself. When you have solved the problem, you ask the calculator to compute the value of what you found.
Let us clean the equation a bit
2(x-4) -5x=-5
Get rid of the parentheses 2(x-4) becomes 2x-2*4=2x-8 .Put that result where it was in equation
2x-8 -5x=-5
Group together the terms that have x in them 2x-5x=-3x
Then
2x-8-5x=-5, becomes -3x-8=-5
You want to isolate the term with x (have it on one side, and the others on the other side) -3x= -5 -(-8)= -5+8 =3.
The equation becomes
-3x=3 Thus -x=3/3=1 and x=-1.
In general you would have obtained x= (some number/some other number) and that is where the calculator would intervene.
Hope it helps.

locate a matrics on a TI-30XS calculator
If you mean matrix, then I am sorry, but neither the TI-30Xa nor the TI-30XS calculators handles matrices.

how do you convert it from degree to radian mode
Hello,
To convert a displayed number from degree to radian, press [2nd][DRG->] once. Each time you press the two keys in sequence you change from deg to rad to grad to degree and so on.
Hope it helps.

where is the e button on a ti-30xa calculator
If you mean e^x, it's the shifted function of the LN key on the top row of the keyboard. If you mean the enter-exponent, it's the EE key just above the 7 key.

How do I find the carrot key on my TI-30XA?
I assume you refer to the caret ^ symbol, sometimes used as an operator for exponentiation.
E.g. to calculate 2^8, enter
