Anyone know how I can do Absolute Value on this?
The quick way to determine absolute value is to square the value and take the square root of that.
So on the TI, with the value on-screen, just push these 2 keys in sequence (they are right next to each other):

How do I input Degrees-Minutes-Seconds to convert to Degrees? Vice-Versa.
On any calculator, let's convert degrees-minutes-second to degrees and then we will do the reverse.
Let's start with the number of seconds in a minute - 60, so we must take the seconds and divide by 60 to get the number of minutes. Next, add the number of minutes. The number of minutes in a degree is 60, so we take this total and divide by 60. Now we add the number of degrees to get out final answer.
Example: 35 degrees 50 minutes 32 seconds
(32/60 + 50)/60 + 35 = 35.842222 degrees
Just out of interest, let's start with 35.842222 degrees and convert it to degrees-minutes-seconds. We know it is 35 degrees, the whole number. Now we have to determine the minutes and seconds. Start by subtracting 35 to get the decimal 0.842222. Now multiply by 60 to get the number of minutes. I get 50.5332. Subtract 50 from this and multiply again by 60. I get 31.9992, which rounds to 32 seconds.
Good luck.

Hoe do you use logarithm on TI-36X SOLAR?
Basically you first have to put your answer into scientific notation by pressing the 3rd key then the 6 key. The screen display should change to one big zero and two small zeros.
I was workinggon the same problem with a -log of a chemistry problem to get pH and I knew the answer because I calculated it on it TI-85, but we are not allowed to use graphing calulators on the exam (:-((() so I had to figure out how to do it on this one!
For example, I had pH =-log(2.828947x10^4)
On the TI-36X you change to scientific notation using the instructions above. Once the three zeros enter on the screen:
[4]
[-]
[2nd]
[10^x]
1^-04 should appear on screen, then you multiply by 2.828947
[x]
[2][.][828947]
then your screen will show the answer in scientific notation.
2.828947 in big numbers and in small numbers -04
From there you simply press:
[log]
and your answer will show up as a negative number. Just take the absolute value of that and you have your answer. Took me like 30 minutes the night before a huge chemistry exam to figure that out! Hope it helps someone!
