Why doesn't my enter key work
What shape is the cursor in? If it is checkered then the command line memory is full, or memory is full. Try clearing the RAM. It is also possible that the key is not working anymore because of previous mishandling or old age.

Convert decimals fractions standard form
If you are concerned about fraction handling and conversion to decimal representation, upgrade the OS of your calculator to 2.5x MP. As to handling of irrational numbers (such as square roots) you should visit the TIcalc.org website to look for any 3rd-party program that can do that.

Installing
Try to find a classmate who has the same calculator (TI84 Plus or TI84
Plus Silver Edition) and effect a transfer of the OS from the
classmate's calculator using an IO cable.Alternatively, download the new version of TI Connect (version 4.) and install it on your computer. Then connect your calculator to the computer through the USB cable. When it recognizes the calculator click the update button in TI Connect interface and select update OS. Good luck.

HELP!! afther I connected my TI-84 plus to my pc,
You cannot get the calculator to behave as you describe just by connecting it to the computer. You must have done some other manipulations.Try to find a classmate who has the same calculator (TI84 Plus or TI84 Plus Silver Edition) and effect a transfer of the OS from the classmate's calculator using an IO cable.

Answer always appearing
Minus and change-sign are two completely different things. Minus is used to subtract one number from another. When you press minus when the input line is empty, your telling the calculator to subtract. The only way it can subtract the number you're about to put in is to subtract it from something else, and that something else is the previous answer, hence the "Ans."If you want to input a negative number, use the change-sign key. If you want to subtract one number from another number, use the minus key.Try pressing the plus key when the input line is empty. You'll get Ans+ in this case as well, The same with multiply and divide, among others, and for the same reason.

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

Unfortunately, you can't. The TI-84 has a limited ability to work with fractions but it won't work with irrational numbers.

See Laurent series of this function:z^(3)exp^((1/z-1))=z^(3)+z^(2)(1-z)+(z(1-z)^(2))/2!+1-(1-z)^(3)/3!+...You can see it has an essential singularity at the origin
