Answer always appearing

Minus and change-sign are two completely different things. Minus is used to subtract one number from another. When you press minus when the input line is empty, your telling the calculator to subtract. The only way it can subtract the number you're about to put in is to subtract it from something else, and that something else is the previous answer, hence the "Ans."If you want to input a negative number, use the change-sign key. If you want to subtract one number from another number, use the minus key.Try pressing the plus key when the input line is empty. You'll get Ans+ in this case as well, The same with multiply and divide, among others, and for the same reason.

It seems to me that the cursor (regardless of its shape) is always blinking. What is significant is the shape it has.Full rectangle: Overwrite character at the right.Underline : Insert mode, inserts next key press to the left of its location.Checkered rectangle: No entry is possible because command or memory is full.A in reverse video, in ALPHA mode.

Keypad working

Well first of all. Dry it a bowl of rice for a few days... (works with every thing hand held). My first guess is that you may have damaged the processor (don't bother trying to replace it). Or (if you can be bothered) open it up and look behind the keypad to see if the keys aren't caught on something. You can NOT return it because warranties don't cover water damage to electronics (normally).

Why doesn't my enter key work

What shape is the cursor in? If it is checkered then the command line memory is full, or memory is full. Try clearing the RAM. It is also possible that the key is not working anymore because of previous mishandling or old age.

I'm using a Ti-84 plus and when I try simple

You apparently have your calculator set to display no digits to the right of the decimal point. 5/2 is 2.5, which rounds to 3, and 50/100 is 0.5, which rounds to 1. To change the display setting, press MODE, highlight the desired settings on the first two lines, then press ENTER followed by 2ND QUIT. Try setting "NORMAL" and "FLOAT" and see what results you get now.

Nothing shows on scxreen after turn on, and new batteries

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.
