Argument must be a list

You are trying to use a command or a function that requires you to give it some information to use. The information required is supplied between parentheses. What is inside the parentheses is called the argument(s). Each argument must have a certain type of data : scalar, vector, list, matrix. It happens that one of the arguments in your command or function must be of type list. Before calling the function you must have defined (created) that particular list and populated it with necessary values. That is all I can say, because I have no idea what you are trying to do.

I am having trouble figuring out why my ti 89 has

The calculator does not give a result of an integration with a constant. The form of the result will depend ob the EXACT/APPROXIMATE mode you have selected.
In the following screen capture, your integral has been evaluated with mode set to EXACT,AUTO, and APPROXIMATE. Pay attention to the syntax.

60131ab.jpg

To set the computational mode to EXACT, press the MODE button use the Function keys F1,F2 or F3 to move from page to page, point to EXACT/APPROX and use the right arrow key to unfold the submenu, then the Up or Down arrow to select AUTO, EXACT or APPROXIMATE and press ENTER to SAVE Configuration.
If the integral cannot be found in EXACT mode, the calculator will echo the command without calculating the integral.

TI-89 dimension mistmatch error

Dimension mismatch error occurs when arguments are not with same dimensions. Two or more arguments must be of the same dimension. For example, [1,2]+[1,2,3] is a dimension mismatch because the matrices contain a different number of elements. By the way, it it very easy to resolving your problem with differentiation. See captured image 2_23_2012_9_31_10_am.jpgAs a result of differentiation you had to obtained:(3b+2c)cos2x+(3c-2b)(sin2x)e^(3x)+2ae^(2x)
