How do I change from internal memory to external

Hi,

You can copy all the images from the Internal Memory to a Memory Stick Duo media using the COPY option in the Memory Stick Tool Menu option.

Please insert the Memory Stick Duo media with sufficient free capacity into the Camera.
Select MENU--> Settings-->Memory Stick Tool-->COPY-->OK.

The original images in the Internal memory retain after copying. You may have to delete the contents of the internal Memory. Remove the Memory Stick media after copying, then format the internal memory. FORMAT in Internal Memory Tool.

You can only copy the images to the new folder created on the Memory Stick Duo which is created automatically. You cannot copy the images to a specific folder.

My sony camera DSC-W290 has

Hello,
according to sony support you should try first to reset your camera to the default factory settings. You can find the article here:
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C265373

and here is the manual for your camera:
http://www.docs.sony.com/reflib/docget.asp?manualid=1031952&template_id=1®ion_id=1

If you look into page 131 of the manual you can find your problem, and on page 85 is described the reset procedure: you should go to menu/settings/main settings/initialize/ then OK
Let me know if this helped you. Bye

The lens of my sony camera will NOT retracked.

There is a capacitor dump that you can try.

Remove the batteries, wait 5-10 minutes.
With the batteries out, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so.
Put the batteries back in and your camera will start over (re-boot). You will know if it worked if you have to reset the date. But if that lens is really stuck you may be out of luck. The cost to repair it will exceed the cost of a new camera.

I have sony DSC-W290 Cybershot

I would check and confirm that you are zooming using the optical zoom. It sounds like you may be zooming using the digital zoom, which would have this effect.

"C:32:01 System Error" means, there's something wrong with the memory. Attach it to your computer and format the the card as 'FAT'. Formatting as 'FAT32' or 'NTFS' will produce this error. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_69f3cc28d95bf514

Recently purchased the Sony DSC-W290 and I have

how long do you usually charged the batt? to make charge last slightly longer leave the batt inside the charger for an hour after the charger light goes off. if you have a fully charged batt you should be able to take approx. 300 pics or 2.5hrs approx.batt life. for viewing pics it should give you approx. 6800 pics and approx. 5.5 hrs. of course, number of still images and and batt life may vary depending on the camera settings.so if you're zooming in and out, using the flash, going from camera to play mode, turning cam on and off, using other settings and features of the camera, this will cause the batt to drain much faster.also ambient temperature also affects batt life.if it's very cold, the batt drains a bit faster.also, it's recommended that if you're not using the camera to remove the batt.retaining the camera settings, date & time will cause batt to drain even if your not using it. if did this and still you think it's odd that your batt drains quickly and looses charge even if it's fully charge, it might also indicate that what you might be a defective batt. one way to find out is to try using the same type of batt from a friend or a relative that has one to confirm and further isolate issue.anyway, supplied accessories has the same warranty that applies to your camera.so you may send it out and have it replaced if needed.hope this helps.thanks:)

Please make sure to check if the battery is fully charged. Second, check the menu option for battery saving mode and turn it off. If the battery is getting old and not charging fully anymore the priority of the camera is the shooting mode.
