Lucien Piccard 26024 Wrist Watch - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Watch band resizing
This band requires a pair of band pliers to pull out a U shaped tab that connect the two links. Sometimes you can get a small screw driver in to start the tab coming out and pull it the rest of the way out with a pair of pliers. The tab is located in the middle. You'll note that, if you look at the side of the band, there are three layers of metal. The tab is in the middle and slides out. If you look at the inside of the band, the side that would be on your wrist, you will see the slot that the watch plier would fit into to start sliding the tab out.
* I do not recommend this repair for the layperson. I suggest seeing a watch maker/technician.
Changing from 24 hr system to 12 hr system
- Press "MODE" (lower left hand button) three times to get to the screen where the numbers are blinking, indicating that you can adjust the time
- Make note of the hour if you don't have another clock handy
- Press "LAP/RST" (lower right hand button) once to get the hour numbers to blink, indicating that you can change them
- Press "ST/STP" (upper right hand button) to move the hour forward until you go past 24
- At this point, you will notice a little "A" next to the time to indicate AM, and if you keep going past 12 hours, it will cycle back to 1, this time with a "P" next to it to indicate PM
I have Esquire watch (#5466), watch does not fit
Link remover will push the pin out, and you will need a small needle nose plier to fully pull the pin out. Simply align the pin with the tool and carefully twist tool knob to push the pin out. Twist design makes it easy to remove or add links to your watch band. Easily alter your watch without scratching the band. Fits most bands using a pin system to hold links together. Comes with two extra pins for replacing bent pins. Many watch bands use directional link pins, therefore you must push in the direction of the pin. Improper use of the tool will damage the pin and your tool. Please be careful when pushing the pin. It should easily slide out with some force. If you are pushing very hard and no movement, try using some lubricant to help the pin slide out.

I have minicci wrist watch and don't know how to
You may or may not have
arrows inside bracelet.Arrows are pointing the way the pins must come
out.
First you have to find out what sort of pins or even screws are used to keep links together.
Examine both bracelet sides and find the side where pin ends have a groove.
Start with a tiny screwdriver and unscrew one of the screws.
If it turns, but doesn't come out, that means you have a pins instead.
For removing pins the best would be pin removing tool (approx.5GBP on ebay), but it's possible to do the job without it.
Take a hardened steel needle and blunt the sharp end to the approx.
size of pin end diameter using any sharpening stone or sandpaper. Get
an old towel and fold it to make a soft base for work (like small
cusion). As you don't have a special bracelet holder you will need a
pair of helping hands to hold the bracelet steady upright. You will
need small hammer and pair of flat nose pliers as well.
NOTE: The pins MUST be driven split end out first, not vice versa. Make
sure that the grooved pin ends are facing towel, not the needle and
hammer!!!
Now place the watch on the folded towel, take that needle and smallest
hammer you have and start driving the pin out using light blows. Do Not
hit hard, as you will brake the needle, scratch your watch or even
injure yourself. Watchmakers are using 45 gram hammer, so, calculate
your strength of blows.
After a few blows check if the split end is coming out and when you see
that the end is long enough to grab it with pliers, pull the pin out
with pliers. When pulling, do NOT turn pliers, as pins tend to brake
when twisted. Use firm grip and your strength to pull the pin without
twisting.
After shortening the bracelet or adding extra link(s) make sure that the pins go back EXACTLY
the same way as they came out- the blunt end first in the hole and the
split (grooved) end last. Before doing that check remaining pins in
bracelet to make sure that you put them back from the right side of
bracelet.
It is recommended to use plastic hammer to drive pins back in or you
will scratch or damage bracelet. If plastic hammer is not available use
an old toothbrush handle (or some plastic item) as an absorber. Simply
put pin into the hole as deep as you can with your fingers, put the
toothbrush handle on split pin end and hit handle, not the pin.
Make sure that pin ends are flush with bracelet. If needed- hit few more times.
Job done!
If you do not want to do it yourself, any jeweler will do it in a matter of few minutes.

How do you get the
You have to wind the watch before it will run. The watch will also need to be re-wound every 24-48 hours.
How do i get my Lucien Piccard 26570SL Automatic running?
You have to wind the watch first. Pull out the crown (the knob on the right side of the watch) to the intermediate position (the winding position will not move the hands or the date so this is how you know that you are in the correct place. Most watches have 3 positions where you can set the date, time, and wind it) and wind the watch. It will need to be re-wound every 24-48 hours.

The arrows you are seeing are for sizing the band. I cannot find 26311SS in my data base, but I have a good idea what you need to do. The curved piece is a safty that goes over the clasp. Take something like a round toothpick and with the curved piece going to the right like this: ( put the toothpick under the far lefthand side, in the middle and see if you can pry it up ,( I say use a tooth pick so not to scratch up your watch) it should flip over to the right.Check and see if there are any spring loaded buttons on either side of the clasp, if there is push them in ,and lift to your left If there is no buttons just pry up towards your left. If this dosn't work PLEASE let me know, and I will find the exact watch and we can go from there. Good luck!!
I received a lucien piccard vd53 watch and can't get it to run. What do I do to start it??
I see your watch has a Seiko VD53 Quartz Chronograph Movement. Several possibilities come to mind - the watch may have a small plastic spacer under the crown which is there to stop the battery running flat before the watch is sold. If that's the case then simply remove the spacer and press the crown in. Possibly, the battery is flat and will need replacing, or you've received a faulty watch - either way (and I interpret your using the word 'received' as meaning that it was a gift to you) you should tactfully point this out to the giver. They wouldn't want to have wasted their money, and hopefully they've kept the receipt.
