Never!!! You should have an Owner's Manual for this product, be sure to read it carefully. At any rate, you should "never' add anything to the metal part of your slow cooker it is designed only for ingrediants to be put in the ceramic bowl.

The cooking time depends on what your cooking. In general there is a 3 to 4 hour difference between slow and fast. If your cooking poultry make sure to check the meat with a thermometer until you get the hang of it.

If you still have your base for the Rival 3355 Crockpot and aren't using it. I would LOVE to buy the handles from you. Mine are cracked but the other parts work fine. [email protected]
