Water system was drained for the winter. We can not get fresh water into the holding tank. It was done at a dealer, but they are not open. It will take city water.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:
1. Check the Water Pump:
- Make sure the water pump is turned on and functioning correctly. The water pump is responsible for drawing fresh water into the holding tank from an external source.
- Check for any visible signs of damage or blockages in the water pump system.
2. Verify the Tank Fill Valve Position:
- Ensure that the tank fill valve is in the correct position to allow water to flow into the holding tank. The valve may need to be switched from the city water connection to the tank fill position.
3. Inspect the Water Inlet:
- Check the water inlet connection where you fill the fresh water tank. Make sure there are no obstructions or kinks in the hose that could be preventing water from entering the tank.
- If there is a water filter in the system, check if it is clogged and needs to be replaced or cleaned.
4. Test the Gravity Fill System:
- If your RV has a gravity fill system for the fresh water tank, try filling the tank using this method. Pour water directly into the gravity fill port and monitor the tank level to see if the water is entering the tank.
5. Consult the RV Manual:
- Refer to the owner's manual of your Coachmen Elite RV for specific instructions on filling the fresh water tank and troubleshooting water system issues.
I good luck

Black water drain valve won't open
First try threading handle back into valve, turning clockwise and pushing in with a little force, it may have just backed itself out. If that doesn't work, you'll have to pull handle right out and get the longest wood screw you can get and slide it in hole where handle came out and thread it into knife valve far enough to hold and pull. Then replace valve after emptied and cleaned.
What is wrong when the steps retract each time the door is opened or closed ?
I know this is not much help but there has to be a switch that is activated when you are in "camping mode" that would keep it from constantly going in and out. When you are in "driving mode" that is exactly how they are supposed to work. I guess I would start on the instrument panel and look for something that would trigger it. It could be as simple as the parking brake.
Repair slide <living room is extended and won`t return>
Check to ensure nothing is blocking the slideout, its path or the gears of the motor. If you don't see a dimming of the lights when you push the retraction button or don't hear any motor noise check the fuse for the slideout motor. If all else fails there should be a manual slide retraction option somewhere that allows you to retract the slideout using a crank or a power drill. Check the owner's manual.
Black tank drain handle seem disconnected and I cannot open or cloase the tank valve... how do I get to it to find the problem?
Your handle has probably become disconnected from the gate that closes and opens the valve. If it is stuck in the open position you are indeed lucky. Flush the tank and replace the valve. There is usually a metal rod that is screwed into the gate. If the valve sticks and you pull ******* the handle it can pull the threaded portion out of the "gate". If this happens, you have to get access to the valve and remove it. This is a big mess on a full tank. You should first pump out the tank and get it as clean as you can. Then remove the valve and replace it. I did this once.
Gfci keeps tripping
You need to determine if it is experiencing a ground failure or a short. You can purchase an outlet tester at Lowes for a low price that will indicate if you have an open ground, a short etc. If the GFCI outlet is bad then replace it.
