The tank you made is fine that is there as extra. the thermostat problem easy fix, type this into your google search.... koso water temp sensor adapter .... this is a adapter that goes in the water line it's self. simply cut the radiator hose and put in the adapter then screw in the temp sensor and run wires.
Send me some pictures of the bike. I love the smaller bike I'm working on a bandit 400 and a gt 250.
Good luck

Hi, just bought zzr 250 and was running fine, needs new battery but jump started it and after a few mins of running water started leaking out. Stopped the bike and could hear a whinning nice or like a

Need to make a compression test on each cylinder in case you need a new cylinder head gasket, test the thermostat and check that the radiator fan works ok.Also after installing a new battery (which you should cause the old one will damage you regulator eventually) check that the charging system works ok.

Im thinkin about buying a used bike but it needs a newclutch . how hard is it to replace. i have worked on quite a few cars but not so many bikes

its very easy,,you will obviously need new clutch plates and side cover gasket, you need to remove the side cover ,and the clutch basket will be right in front of you, undo the pressure plate and remove the friction plates and steel plates then fit the new plates the same as you removed the old ones.

1994 Kawasaki ZZR-400 Leaks oil and doesnt start sometimes.

that box is called the air box, its where you engine breathes in its air. you say its leaking oil? these boxes are normally a bit oily but only really surface oil. If you can actually see liquid oil you have a problem with your petrol shut off. When the bike isnt running petrol will leak into the engine through the piston. When you start the bike all the petrol mixed with the engine oil will be pumped back into the air box. also check the level of the engine oil, if too much has been put in there then that can also be pumped back into the air box. If the petrol and oil has been mixing you must change the oil as petrol thins the oil and your bike could catch fire, the engine wear will be really bad.

Kawasaki zzr400 (1994 model),streetfighter wont start

check starter solenoid.see if getting power to starter side when pressing button .if yes check if power to starter w/ test light when pressing button.if power there check starter, also motor, will it turn manually or is it seized.if no power to starter side of solenoid, jump across solenoid posts w/ a large screwdriver -motor will probaly turn over,w/ key on.if small wire to solenoid has power when pressing start, solenoid bad,if no power, wiring or start button bad.
