I have 05 vtx 1300r. bike has been sitting for a while.when starting it would not idle.so i cleaned carb took all rubber and plastics off put it back together and it leaks fuel from air hoses and from little hole in front off air inlet . did i put somthing back toghter wrong. please help.

The cheapest route is to overhaul the and clean the carb. The only pproblem is that you can have both of them be the problem. On mine I had to replace the jets and overhaul the carb to get it running right. It ran better when I just did the carb but not how I wanted it to.

try looking at the fuse box . i had this problem with a customers bike and the fuse box had a crack in the pc bord that is under the fuses

I would recommend a multigrade engine oil API SG or higher and viscosity 10W-40 semi or fully synthetic oil see if has JASO MA additive that´s necessary.

You should check your side stand switch, this will kill the motor

May be running too lean or too rich. Check the color of your plugs, black dry and sooty means they are rich, white with blisters lean.
