The bike starts and idles perfect gives a smooth ride but after 6000rpm the bike lags and does not want to rev up, i can not get more than 100km on 6th gear it is really annoying me, through pull off right up to 6th gear it just does not want to perform, the bike has 15 000km and its been serviced every year by the agents and they can not tell me or do anything about it, it just got back from a service they cleaned the aif filter and did an oil change and welded the exhast and thats the best they could do even tho the bill was over R3000,00 please give me advise and a guided repair on how to fix this problem because i really do not want them to touch the bike again.thank you Neran

  1. if u need more fast .. then don't change air filter and otherthings except oil...
  2. remove the BORE and give that to bore service centre they adjust it ,how much speed you want, only in bore don't go beyond that...

Just bought a 1993 suzuki gsxr 750. has been sitting in a garage for 2 years. we took the carbs off and cleaned them really well, changed the oil, and air filter and we added new gas. bike starts up and...

If is runs better with full choke, then the bike is lean, check for air leaks at the carb manifold, vacumn cracked hoses, non standard exhausts, perhaps the mufflers have rusted out while sitting

Hi I have a GSXR 750 K7, I did an oil and filter change plus needed a new battery. since starting the bike all running smoothly i noticed the revs running at 2000rpm plus f1 light. went for a short ride...

You might have a leak in your tube mount between the carb and head. Let the bike idle and spray some starting fluid on the front of the carb. If the idle shoots up, you have a leak. Either cracked/weatherd or not tight enough

Bike back fires at 6000RPM and has no power, only doing 55MPH at 6000RPM in 3rd gear

try playing with the choke a little bit. give it some choke, bout quarter on or less. if it smoothes out the carbs are probably dirty.

hi mate just turn the idle screw in on the carb until it starts and runs smoothely dont screw it to much though it will rev right up else just do it a quarter turn each time until it eventually stays running good luck buddy

Screaming sound

its quite normal for these bikes to scream at high revs its what they do at the high revs though it becomes more apparent with engine age and thrashing into the high revs maybe a good service is due hope this helps

Rev limit light flashes when reved over 6000 rpm!

No, the rev limiter resets to 6000 rpms when the battery goes dead or is changed. You have to reprogram the rev limiter to allow it to rev to 11,500 or more, but i am sorry to say that i can't recall the sequencevof buttons to reset it, which shold be in your owners manual. This is not an upshift light!
