Disc "squeal" is almost always caused by vibration between metal parts of the brake system - usually between the brake pad backing and the caliper piston, and between the pads and the pins that hold them to the caliper. The majority of people think that the sound is a result of the pads rubbing against the rotor, but this is rarely the case.
Buy a good anti disc pad grease from auto parts store and apply the the edge of the caliper piston and the back of the brake pad - also place lubricant on the pins and where they make contact to the pads. don't go crazy, because excess could get on the rotor and cause braking problems. Keep the rotor and pad surfaces as clean as possible - if you get grease on them, spray a good cleaner such as brake clean to remove the dirt/grease from the pad and rotor.
Put it all back together, and you should be good to go. This fix has worked perfectly on many bikes over the years.

If you have a "squeal" when you apply the brakes, spray the anti-squeal spray on the rotor. If the brakes are "squeaking" when you go down the road, it's probably the caliper moving side to side on the pins. Remove the pins and apply synthetic brake grease on the pins.

    I agree with Ocsled that the squeal is usually being made by something other than the brake pads against the rotor but it is initially caused by contamination on the rotor causing an uneven braking effect. Parts against each other just don't make noise because they want to. I don't know what type of Anti-squeal product you have. So, spray a little bit onto a scrap piece of metal and see how fast it evaporates. If it evaporate quickly, you spray it one the rotor and wipe it off. Some people don't wipe it but I use it just like brake cleaner.
    Now, if it's lubricant type anti-squeal spray, you remove your brake pads and spray it on the back of the pads. Not a lot, a little goes a long way. Then put the pads back in.

What kind of brake pads are you using and did you use brake grease on the pad's baking plate. Lubriplate (blue squeeze tube) makes it, et al. Ceramic pads last longer, but have a tendency to squeal a bit more than OEM or HD (sport) pads. Akibono are best ceramic pads on the market, with ATE, Jurid, Textar, and Galfer about equal in performance pads. Ultra high performance pads are made by Brembo, Galfer (Spain), AP (UK) used by GM, and EPC.

Is belt squealing? or is there a squeaky noise?

Squealing would denote belt slippage... belt might be loose, apply more belt tension at idler pulley (if possible). Consider trying a spray-on 'anti-slip" compound.

Squeaky noise could mean a bad pulley bearing.

Why squeaky brakes on jeep
front or rear.??? my guess front.... wild guess.
if car has pads with the noise makers this is normal and the early warning.
if pads are thick (why not look first???) and squeal.?
  1. this is normal all disc brakes squeal, can and will if they want to.
  2. or has missing anti-squeal shims on pad due bad mech. serv.
  3. or not using anti-squeal glue on back side of new pads.
  4. if in a perfect world they can in fact squeal.
if you have new rotors and pads and all above is good. they may not squeal. the rotors can be tad bump and the pads will resonate to this rotor surface, its harmless this. only annoying.

other factors, why not do a full inspection of the pads and rotors
first and not just guess and wonder.
like:
OMG:
  • Cracked rotors
  • leaking DOT 3/4
  • calipers guide pins seized.
  • Pads shot
  • missing parts, the FSM shows all parts as does jeep parts page.
  • rotors shot , worn illegally thin, warped, or just ugly bad and old.
this is what we call SOP
standard operatiing proceedures.

How to stop parking brake on driver side from squeaking
on the pads/shoes should be coating of anti squeal. It comes usually with new sets. Make sure that the hardware is flat so it won't rub on the rotor. If rubbing it will be missing the paint.

When driving or starting the car i notice when using the brakes it makes a squeaking noise - not all the time think its possibly damp causing it as it was raining yesterday and it happened but no rain...
To address your first problem squeaking brakes aka "brake squeal", is most often casued by one or 2 things: "Pad vibration" or a "low brake warning sensor".

Pad vibation is usually caused by ineffective pad anti-rattling clips & hardware that allow the pads to vibrate at a super fast speed whenever the brakes are applied, thus causing a high pitch brake squeal. To correct this, replace all the pad hardware and anti-rattling clips and make sure you use a quality pad set that has anti-rattling plates attached to the backs of them. Weather conditions do affect brake squeal, that is why it seems to be worse at times.

Low brake warning sensor squeal occurs when your brake pads reach the point of replacement, the sensor attached to the pads scrapes on the rotor which produces a high pitch squealing sound to warn you it's time for new pads.

As far as your second problem goes (a knocking sound), I'll need more information about the problem before I can offer a possible cause (eg. happens on left or right turns, while going over bumps, at high or low speeds, accellerating...).

Screaming brakes dont mean the fluid is low, the brakes squeaking is due to vibration of the pads and calipers, the brakes could be fine and still squeak, in order to rid the noise you would need to remove the pads and replace the pad hardware clips and then apply some anti squeal to backside of the pads,this helps almost always but some cars the pads are so glazed that they need replacing and rotors machined or replaced, if your dad said they were good for now then its safe. if the noise is something you wish to get rid of then follow the above instructions. good day.

Rear brakes (driver-side) squeal after replacing rotors and pads
you need to grease the metal clips at the top and bottom of the pads (dont get grease on the rotor or pad though) and also spray some "disc brake quiet" on the back of the pads. it comes in a red can and the spray that comes out is like sticky red paint. do those 2 things and the squeals will be gone.

Skweeking brakes
Several possible causes:
  1. Did you use copper-based brake grease on the brake pins and the back of the pads?
  2. Did you clean all the old gunk off the brake pins and after doing so, where they deeply grooved? If so, you must replace them.
  3. Wrong brake pads. Some pad manufacturers list a patricular pad as being OK for a vehicle. They fit OK but the pad characteristics are wrong and they squeal like crazy or wear out in no time or give lousy raking performance etc.
  4. If the pads you removed had anti-squeal shims on the back of them did the new ones? They almost certainly should have. IIRC, they are held to the pads by some double-sided adhesive tape.
  5. If you get squeak-silence-squeak-silence... at low speed (i.e. just before coming to a halt) then the disk(s) is/are distorted. They will have to be replaced. You must not machine the discs on these brakes - there is no thickness available to do that. If you do tthey may well collapse under the heavy braking of an emergency stop with very unfortunate consequences!
  6. As someone said, the disc may be badly worn and/or grooved -check and replace if necessary.
  7. You may have a stone or piece of grit stuck between a pad and a disc. If so & it's worn a groove in the disc,you will need to replace both disc and pad.
  8. Make sure you torqued any brake bolts correctly and that you put thread sealant on them. Failure to do so can lead to them loosening in normal use. The brakes may squeak for a while if this happens but then things can get much worse...
