SOURCE: I have a 95 yz 125 head and 98 yz 125 bottom end.

You have a 50/50 chance that they will work okay. All the mounting holes need to line up and the cooling holes as well. Get a head gasket for the '98 and see if all lines up. Will the exhaust pipe fit the '95?

SOURCE: what year is my yz 125?

the number on the frame is called the VIN and it consists of 17 digits, the rule is the 10th digit from the left identifies the year, so your bike is a 03 model.

SOURCE: how do i decode yamaha yz 125 engin id number

You don't decode it. It is only a production run series number. Mororcycles are like cars in that respect. It is the frame number, AKA the "VIN number", is what carries all the information. Call a dealer with the frame number and he can tell you year, paint color, specific model and more. They may have a problem if the bike is too old. Yamaha changed to a newer code system a few years back.

My yz125 has lost its frame number plate is there any way i can find what this number is, and can i buy a replacement of the original plate

I do not know which country you are in but in Australia trail bike such as your YZ125 do not have plates, they have the frame numbers stamped onto the frame, usually at the steering neck.

Just bought a yz250 , checked the vin and it comes out at a 2004 frame, the problem is i want to know the engine year which is stamped 5CU engine year is what i need to find out please.

The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is a 2004. If it is not the original engine, the engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless.

Okay so I have a 2003 Yamaha TTR-125 dirtbike, it is NOT electric start, it is kick-start. All of the plastics were replaced so I do not have the original stickers on it with the model, therefore I forgot...

There is a frame number stamped on the frame neck. If you call a dealer they can look up the year and model using an ID microfiche. Next to the stamped frame number there should be a riveted plate with the VIN number on it . If this plate is still on your frame it also has the model number and the model year of the motorcycle clearly printed on it. All Yamaha dealers have the ability to ID your machine using the Vehicle Identification Number.

I jus want to know how i can find out the age of my yz 125

Hi, do you have any idea at all? 80's, 90's ? I have a 1978 YZ 125, and i can tell that from the engine number, all 1978 yz 125 were stamped 2K6----------
You can find out with a bit of research online, using your engine number. Also, look on the steering stem of the bike for a year date stamp.
Failing all that, make a phone call to your nearest yamaha dealer, and tell them the engine number, they can look it up and tell you what year it iwas built.
One more solution, go to a website like bikepics.com find YZ 125, and look for the model that resembles yours, they have photos of all models, from begining to most current.
So, really the only way to find out is from the engine or frame number.

Serial numbers are usually located behind the number plate on the frame near the tree.
