My 2006 kawasaki vulcan vn2000 back fires when downhills at releasing the accelerator

Does this have a modified (Non-Stock) exhaust system? If so, It's probably the reed valves. (Large bore Kawasaki bikes are known for it) Look at this page for a few fixes: http://www.gadgetjq.com/smogstuffremove.htm

How to remove side cover on vn2000 for fuse replacement?

Kind of a pain. You have to hold the nut under the battery cover screw that goes through the side cover. Otherwise the screw just spins.
