Increase your idle speed at the fuel/air intake manifold. There should be a screw to allow for this adjustment. If that fails the engine timing may be off and should vbe reset to stabilize idle speed.

Kawasaki zzr400 after wash

spary wd-40 on all electrical connection that was expossed to water liberally.....if that doesnt do it, then you probably got water in your pulse generator system coils and will have to pull the cover off and see if theres water in there.

ZZR400 turning but not firing

hi m8,,b4 i can assume anything else,just a couple test u need to try out,, make sure fuel is getting in carbs ,,just undo carb drain screw and check fuel is in the carbs ,, just to iliminate 1 thing,, then pull off one plug cap at a time take the plug cap off the ht wire of the coil, and snip a bit off the end ,, so u can see a strand or to of copper or brass wire in the core off the ht wire,, then screw the cap back on, repeat the process to all the other 3 plug caps,, while u r there make sure the coloured wires to the coil arnt pulled off or corroded,,cheers

Kawasaki zzr400 (1994 model),streetfighter wont start

check starter solenoid.see if getting power to starter side when pressing button .if yes check if power to starter w/ test light when pressing button.if power there check starter,also motor, will it turn manually or is it seized.if no power to starter side of solenoid, jump across solenoid posts w/ a large screwdriver -motor will probaly turn over,w/ key on.if small wire to solenoid has power when pressing start,solenoid bad,if no power, wiring or start button bad.

Flat Rev At 9500rpms

Hi!
Not being well familiar with the ZZr's however what is the Red LIne on this particular model? if it is around 10.000 then your rev limiter is kicking in stopping you blowing the engine.
Hope this helps!

Kawasaki ZZR400 Won''t start, Looses power in top Gear

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, would suggest:
  • a thorough cleanup job on the carbs;
  • inspect, clean the rubber couplings from carbs to intake manifold;
  • inspect tighten coupling clamps;
  • ensure no vacuum leak when re-assembling;
  • inspect, check, ensure air intake box seating to the carbs. Very important, there should be no air leak. All air must pass through the cleaner/filter;
  • check/clean tank, including fuel valve control and built-in fuel filter;
  • use PRIM instead of ON on the fuel valve control.
And the "carborator sleeves" will only slide up when there is sufficient vacuum (engine running) and the throttle is turned.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
