Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3l would die on highway. Newly installed fuel pump will prime, then shut off (from ignition switch). New Fuel filter installed (not backwards). No fuel pressure in injector manifold. There is spark, as the engine fired up by spraying a flammable in the intake. The fuel pump runs constantly when direct power is applied from the battery(20 amp inline fuse). But still no fuel pressure when shraeder valve is pushed on manifold. Fuel line from filter to injector blown with air-no clog. How long does that fuel pump need to run off battery 'till I get pressure?
Its normal for the pump to run for three seconds then shut off if the car engine is off. . This indicates that the fuel pump turned on and the pressure did reach specifications. If the pump did not reach pressure the pump would continue to run, You need to check for proper pressure with a gauge. If tthe pressure is ok then you have another issue like an ignition module or crank sensor if applicable. You may have to drive the car with the fuel gauge hooked up to see if you still have pressure when it dies.. I know you said you replaced the pump already but do you have the same issues as before you replaced it. This would indicate which direction you need to go now. If the same then its prabably not the pump.
You have already stated you have no pressure under all conditions and if you can hear the pump run when you cycle the key then you most likely have a bad pump or clogged fuel filter. If the filter is external on this vehicle take it off and drain it. It should have maybe a slight resistance when you blow thru it.. I've seen filters plugged almost solid.

Thank you for your response. There is no pressure at all and vehicle will not run without fuel pressure. I am about to drop the tank and see if the line is clogged between the tank and the filter. As I said, the fuel pump runs constantly when jumpered to the battery, still no pressure. Where is the ignition module and/or crank sensor located?
dropped the fuel tank again. Removed all hoses on fuel pump, then jumpered fuel pump from battery. Fuel pump running but nothing coming out.
Old fuel pump was placed in a bucket of water and jumpered from battery. No response whatsoever. Inline fuel filter was disconnected under van, and fuel line aimed in a bucket.New fuel pump Jumpered; Positive(fused) to green wire to pump/Negative to black wire to pump. New pump runs, but no fuel comming into bucket. Does it hurt the fuel pump to run it for the duration of a minute in this fashion? Thanks!
Van starts when a flammable is sprayed into intake, so there must be good ignition...
