I am trying to find out what a good Jetting combo to use in San Diego Ca. I have the JD Jet Kit with stock airbox & filter. I did add an adjustment screw. I cant remember what jets I have in there now from the kit. My problems are Stalling at some stops & always have to pull the hot start to restart after running for a few min. Thanks

The hot start "leans" it out. As the choke does the opposite.
Think about where in the throttle range you normally ride it, and where your throttle is when it stalls. If it's stalling at an idle, oyu may be too large on your pilot , or slow jet. The air screw should be able to adjust a little here, but only if the slow jet is not too small or big. Drop one smaller on the slow jet and run it to see if it helps, read your plug to see if it's chocolate brown. You don't want white, or black. (Too lean or rich)
And then fine tune it with the air screw. If you get this good, then go to the main jet. (3/4 throttle) and see what color your plug goes there.
The needle is for the 1/4 to 3/4 throttle range.(Adjusting the needle clip)
Hope this helps.

If I'm changing my stock airbox to stage 3 and cobra pipes (no baffling) is it recommended or required to change jetting? If so can u suggest a kit? Re: '95 intruder 1400.

Just an air filter then no jets but with a full exhaust straight through I would definitely do it.
If you don't you might get the odd small flat spot.
I can't recommend the jet kit but rolling road tune would be beneficial and eek out all possible power .

2014 KTM 250 SX plug fouling

air filter dirty can cause it to run rich. Should be cleaned every 10 hours of riding.
Mix should be at 40:1 in winter and 36:1 in summer. Use a ratio right dont guess on the mix.

Finally - get a JD jetting kit and install it! Crucial for all ktm bikes.

Curious what jetting are you currently running>

Wr400 yamaha runs but stalls

Check the carb. If it bogs, it could be running lean. If it stalls, it could be an electrical issue. For the carb if it is stock I would recommend a jet kit.

XR650 MOTOR

the countershaft seal can be pried out easily, just dont do much damage to seal surfaces(on the motor).

as to your jetting problem, put the clip on the main needle back to "stock".

and buy several "main"jets,larger,and,smaller.
"jet-tests"MUST be done after a high-speed test(check sparkplug color,should be "tan")

poping, most all the time (on bikes)is caused by an air-leak somewhere along the exhaust system,

ALSO,when you change:
cams,
airbox,
exhaust's
--it's a GIVEN to re-jet the carb!!

Cabrurettor

1. Install a larger main jet to your standard fxr150 cabrurettor. We suggest fitting a 117.5 main jet, also remove the airbox and replace with an appropriate pod type airfilter. you will notice a gain in power and also a cool induction noise! 2. Fit a new aftermarket carb like a Keihin PE28 this is a chrome round slide carb which has the advantage over the stock carb that while still being 28mm there is no butterfly and shaft obstructing the airflow. 3. Another easy option is a GN250 carb, it’s a CV type of about 33mm, you can fit this with stock GN jetting and the engine will run GREAT and give quite a noticeable gain in power all over the rev range. 4. Try a flatslide carb from a DR200 if you can find one that is! I have one fitted to my race bike (see projects section) and i'm now looking for the best jetting options, but for now with the jetting i have made it looks to be a very promising carb for the fxr150, check back soon! 5. Honda XL250 carb, this so far has worked by far the best with my race engine and also very good with the std engine, but i did have to make a new throttle cable. For my standard road engine i used a 140mains jet, for my race engine with cams i had to drop the size and use a 130 main jet.
