Working like three cylinder until 4000 rpm

Check your ht leads are right to the correct plugs. I once changed plugs, took ALL leads off at same tiime forgetting which went to which plug. Got 3 and 4 wrong way round - did exactly that.

What is the ht lead

The HT lead ( high tention ) is the thick black cable coming out of the ignition unit, with the spark plug cap connected to the other end, which then sits on top of the spark plug.

My cam chain is rattley how do i tighten it ive a 89 zxr 400

There is a cam chain tensioner on the ZXR 400. It sounds like you need a new cam chain.

Important Note: The cam cahin tensioner is held on by the two bolts that hold the clutch cable bracket underneath the timing cover. Never loosen these bolt and re tighten them. If you need to undo them, remove the cam chain tensioner and reset it.

from what you describe it sounds like cam chain, use a long screwdriver ( or something like ) as a stethoscope and touch the engine with metal end, put the screwdriver handle to your ear and locate where the noise is coming from ( mind you dont get burned or anthing caught in moving parts )
