Testimonial: "Hi, very good info but no stereo/tape player access, i have the BMW player model:PU-9204A i have bikes rider's/service booklet but no info on a radio. Motor cycle data available in service book but NO radio/player code number found ? found lots of other cycle data you advised BUT did not find away to return radio/player back into action."
Look in your owners manual there should be a code when you bought the car if you still have it.

SOURCE: NEED RADIO CODE FOR 1999 BMW323I
Yes, that is a terrible feature as far as I'm concerned. The only way I know is to get the last 7 digitd of your VIN and TRY to get a dealer to pull the code off of the DCSnet.
I hope it works for you.

If you call your merc dealer they should give it to you on the phone, if not have a look at this web site, if not, then if you take out the unit and let me know the s/no: i will see i have it.

SOURCE: 1999 BMW Z3 radio code
I have same problem need to get the serial number off of the back of the radio and the vin# and give that info to the dealer and he will have the code. If code still does not work ask for a different code since they installed radios from different manufacturers.

It normally says CODEWAIT because wrong codes have been entered
The usual solution is to LEAVE SWITCHED ON....UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.
This can sometimes be many hours as the waiting time doubles after each wrong code. However, normally , it is only an hour or two.
