04 Honda CRF230F engine will not turn. When I go to try and start my bike the starting motor cranks and turns just fine, but it will not engage the engine to start.

I have replaced the spark plug and the starter solenoid, but still can't get a power stroke. I have checked/cleaned carburetor. The mechanisms inside the carburetor are also working as the should when I work the throttle and the choke lever. Anybody have any ideas of what might be going wrong, or if there is something I missed while trying to get the bike to start?

The one way starter is known to go bad on them. The honda replacement clutch is expensive compared to the chinese replacements on ebay but it will last much longer.

IF you have a battery get a new one ; put in new gas ; super; dsid you ajest any screws on carb. You tight need to run a prime tank right to your carb to prime it; and then hook your tank backup new gas lines to your carb. Now break out with the WD40 to spray all switches for rust.

SOURCE: Honda Varadero 125. Not starting.

Hi !
First check if the current is coming from ignition coil....
If YES ... then the spark plug is burnt(shorted) Get new plugs.
If NO... then there could be a problem with the ignition coil itself Or the coil in the dynamo is burnt.... Regards

SOURCE: 1993 honda accord fuel injection

In that case there are 3 possibilities:
1. the injectors don't deliver the fuel or are delivering in a too small quantity - the sensors on the airflow meter and/or the throttle block are malfunctioning; or the ECM is defective and doesn't even fire them - check all of that with a voltmeter.
2. the sparks don't occur when they should - distributor is misaligned, the advance is wrong.
3. the valves don't open when they should or at all - check the timing belt.

My 2004 Accent wont start. It started fine Tuesday, Wednesday morning it would not start for nothing. I tried it Thursday afternoon and it started fine. This is the second time it has done this.

Does the motor crank (starter engaged and turning the motor)? If it does not crank, do you hear the solenoid clicking (engaging the starter gear into the flywheel teeth)?

Bike will not start on the electric starter which cranks the engine over with lots of enthusiasm and the battery will keep this going longer than you need to figure its not going to fire.The bike starts...

this sounds like your starter motor turns but slip or does not engage the motor properly .
you may also have a bad connection which the relay may be faulty and cuts the poiwer to the HT .
I would say the electrics have to be looked at first and make sure you do have a spark while using the starter motor .
If not , you have a electric problem like a relay that does not work properly

Honda Deauville will not start.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The click is significant. It indicates that the starting relay is engaging but for some reason, the starter motor is not cranking. This could either be a faulty starter relay (particularly the contacts) or a faulty starter motor (specifically, the carbon brushes). To determine which:
  • with the side covers off, expose the starter relay particularly the 2 large terminals;
  • have somebody start the bike normally using the key and button start switch;
  • determine if indeed the clicking is coming from the starter relay;
  • while the start button is still pressed, jump the 2 big terminals;
  • if the engine cranks, then the internal contacts of the starter relay are corroded or burned;
  • if the engine will not crank, then the starter motor is faulty or it can not turn the engine..
A few additional ideas:
  • externally charge the battery;
  • drain the tank and carbs of stale fuel;
  • refill with fresh fuel;
  • remove the plugs, center stand the bike, engage 1st gear, rotate rear wheel to exercise engine.
  • Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
