Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A couple of initial checks:

  • determine if there is spark on all four sparkplugs. Remove them and re-connect the sparkplug wires. Lay them atop any metal and start the bike.  There should be spark on all four. Determine hw strong (color) of the sparks;
  • verify that fuel is reaching the bowls of the carbs.  At the bottom of each carb, there is a drain screw.  Loosening these screws would allow the fuel to drain out.  Normally, there are drain hoses for this purpose. Collect the draining fuel and check for contamination (dirt, sand, rust, water);
  • verify that the wires from the left ignition coil goes to cylinders 1 & 4 while the right ignition coil goes to cyliners 2 & 3.
Please postback results of initial checks.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

SOURCE: 2006 Dodge Gr. Caravan. Loud humming noise upon

Misalignment of the belt, incorrect belt, worn or loose tensioner, Too tight of an adjustment (many service centers do this on purpose so when the belt breaks in it becomes properly adjusted, I do not believe in this philosophy), The belt is actually one long belt called a serpentine belt.....

SOURCE: backfiring on deceleration from exhaust pipes

May be running too lean or too rich. Check the color of your plugs, black dry and sooty means they are rich, white with blisters lean.

Vanguard V Twin 18 hp. monted in Cushman Motor scooter, runs great at W.O.T and at on quarter throttle, misses at range inbetween

Sounds like your carb needs the fuel/air mix adjusted..uses all the gas at high speed but has excess at low speeds...find your adjusting screw and at med throttle slowly screw it clockwise until the engine starts to sputter then back it out until it starts to sputter again then continue to do this until you reach ideal mix where it runs the best it can..then go slowly through the throttle up and down..when set..unjust your idle speed screw to your ideal idle speed..if this dies not fix ..carb will bed cleaned or rebuilt. Good luck.. Note always push or pull your throttle handle slowly to position avoids gas load up causing sputter and backfire.

Backfire

is it a straight thru exhaust, or is it just a head pipe with nothing attached? If it's just a head pipe, you need to get some sort of muffler on it or you'll burn your valves out from a lean condition. The backfire is due to the vaccum fed carbs that yamaha runs. They work wonderfully, but under heavy deceleration, the vaccum still feeds the bowl, and it builds up excess fuel, which eventually burns off as a backfire. If it were fuel injected, you could have the fuel map adjusted to lean it out under deceleration.

Harley backfires threw xhaust loud pops

loud pops and bangs when throttle closed and you are slowing down is caused by air leaking in where the exhaust meets the engine, an air leak at the exhaust port. remove exhaust and fit new gaskets, make sure you remove all the old gasket first. don't over tighten the exhaust nuts, if you snap of a stud or a bolt there it's a real pig to fix.

Constant backfire on deceleration 88 chevy 4.3 V 6

Check for exhaust leaks. Esp Leaks toward the front of the car. Hold your hand over the tail pipe using a rag and see where the loud hissing noise comes from. Repair the leaks and I bet the backfiring goes away

Good Luck
