I then recall I sometimes had problems opening the gas tank - opens from ignition key - had to press the cap in, before it pops up. Started to wonder if the tank creates a vacuum, starving the engin. I cannot find any intake holes. I was planning to test it by running it until it bogged down - then open the tank cap - then see result. Before I could test it, I by chance checked the engin oil level and was shocked when a thin oil mixture poured out, smelling petrol. Petrol must have found its way into the oil? We had some hot days - parked outside under a tree in shade. I left it for 3 days. Then start again - starts fine - idle ok. I then drained the oil - not overly thin - no petrol smell. I refilled with new oil. Starts fine. Not driven yet. too scared. I would like to check what caused this & if there is any link between the loss of power after 5 km/s and the excess oil, with petrol on top. Somehow I think the breather holes in the tank's lid is closed I cannot see any, causing a vacuum after I traveled 5 k's. Then when I parked it, the extreme heat built-up while parked, caused petrol to expand in tank & pushed it through carburator into engin oil is that possible?. In Google the starving of no breather holes in tank cap, could cause bogging down after some driving - never stopping completely. Sorry for asking this simple problem, but at 70 yrs old, I have never obtained much engin knowledge! Thanks. Frikkie
The older the engine, the more likely it is to leak oil due to aging gaskets and seals. As an engine ages, heat can cause cork gaskets to harden and shrink.Engine oil leaks occur most often at the valve cover and oil pan gaskets, timing chain cover and the front and rear crankshaft seals. on your Mio Better Check all necessary Seals and gaskets
Testimonial: "This was a once-off situation. Bike has only done 3.000 k's. You did not refer to my 1st problem with the tank cap & bogging down after 5 k's. But I suppose you cannot respond to my strange problem. Thanks anyway. I try it out myself."

I had similar problem some months ago it turned out to be the pipe under wheel arch (corroded) where cap filler is.
my problem was solved by replacing pipe which is connected to rubber pipe fixed to tank and filler hose from filler cap.
tools neede llong large cross head screwdriver, small socket set ( 12 mm , 13mm , 14mm) 150 mm extension bar. to remove bracket bolts
possibly some new pipe clips as others may be corroded.
you will need to jack up car and remove wheel to gain access.
took me about 1 hr, somebody with competent DIY skills should be able to deal in couple of hrs
check with dealer as there are two different pipes on different models one is longer.
my one was the one with the piggybacked overflow pipe.
small hands are advantage

You are right, something is letting the float stick and get gas into the oil. You should also probably check the valve lash after replacing the carb.

check the vacuum choke pull off-the round piece connected by rod to the choke see if the rod pulls back into the round part when running, the vacuum diaphram rots and wont pull back to open choke
SOURCE: Check engine light flashing, engine bogging down
it could be a lot of things.. but if you smelled something burning then you may have already done damage to your car. id have it towed to a dealer.
