Why not Julie? There are lots of batteries. You can go into Walmart, Autozone or Canadian Tire, plonk the old one on the counter and say "I would like one of these please". Or order online.

wot exactly are you trying to do ? do you want a better set off or more top end speed ? are those home made cavitation plate finns , if so buy doel finns or symilar as yours look like they mite bend ! you could raise the engine one or two bolt holes , you could spread the weight towards the front of boat , smaller pitch prop to increase set off , larger pitch to get more speed as long as engine reaching max revs still or will bog down but set off will suffer , skim the head to increase compression make sure all carbs clean and balanced and timing correct ! you can make 20mm wedges to fit between engine and transom to increase lift speed at set off ! give me an idear of wot you want if these tips dont help !! P...

if WOT vacuum is near (not at) atmospheric pressure then the
Cab is not undersized.
you do know oversized carbs can never be tuned , right?

the carb can only deliver more fuel mix, and make more power
if the engine can breath more air.
so we do vacuum tests to see if a bigger carb can help.
on most cars , no.
1.4L is a small engine. and can be very easily over carb'd
I use a baro gage, (Sensor) and key on not started, is my
Atmospheric pressure, it will be 0 pressure. (absolute)
14.7 psi 0 abs pressure, at sea level.
i start the engine and see idle pressure. (near max)
i wide open throttle the engine, up a hill and see if it drops near 0
but not zero, the carb will stall near zero.
the venturi fails there. hard.

to learn this , read the full spec. on your carbs. see the spec
for minimum pressure drop to to bottom.
there must be X drop or the carb stalls.
The carb fuel nozzles, die of near this point and can not be tuned.

one great exception to this is CV or SU carb, they adjust automatically to this pressure.

Think of this one other way.
The engine pumps air (end to end, carb removed.
what is that CMF,(cubic feet per minute)
buy a carb to match that.

The best way to drain the fuel is to simply remove the screw from the bottom of the carburetor bowl. on the 125cc you should see the screw which is visible on the same side as the spark plug. Remember to place a small container on the engine to catch the fuel.

Lightly seat both screws then open each of them one and one half turns. This is the factory setting for Japanese bikes. Clean the air filter, install a new spark plug, I assume the Sym has a two stroke engine, mix the gas ans oil 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of two stroke engine oil per gallon of gas. NEVER use motor oil, only two stroke engine oil. Also, tighten all carb fittings such as mount bolts and clamps. Replace any rubber fittings if you see cracks. A cracked manifold will let air into the mixture which leans the mix and makes the idle rev upward.

Why not fix the original engine? What went wrong? Aside from that, try googling " motorcycle salvage Sym Husky " and just " Sym Husky ". A couple of bikes are for sale on the 2nd one. I don't know of any model compatabilitys.
