Unhook the connection under the gas tank. Remove the pins from the elelectrical connection for the fuel gauge. Pull the gauge up. It is held in place with a piece of plastic that surrounds the gauge housing. Good luck!
Check for clogged jets. Also remove the air filter and look into the carb while working the throttle. You should see gas squirting into the carb from the accellator pump. If not, the accellator pump orifice is clogged. Also check the filter on top of the petcock inside the tank.
the float for the fuel sending unit is more then likely hung up on the inside of the fuel tank, common problem,youll need to remove the speedometer housing on the tank and then remove the flat panel in the middle of the tank. lift up gently and look with a flashlight, youll see the float simply and gently bend (very little) the float rod so that the float dont hit the side of the tank and also look and make sure no hoses are in the way
Back of the seat remove the fender bolt..on both sides of the seat where your *** sits are two large torque bolts...You dont have to remove the tank Heritadge has fatbob tanks..remove the 1/2 inch nut holding down your speedometer raise it up and your wire will run through their. you have two seperate tanks their is space between them on the frame.
