Virtually infinite number of possibilities. Anything from a virus to simply having an overfilled hard drive could do that. You could do a few checks, and when you do those checks you can set a new Restore Point before trying each new step. First check the empty space on your hard drive, it's recommended you have at least 5GB if you're running Windows XP/2k. Do a Disk Cleanup from System Tools. Empty your hard drive as much as possible. Make sure you don't have too many things running on the Task Bar. Do CTRL-Alt-DEL and enter Task Manager to see what's currently running, if you have 50 or more processes running it's probably too much. Uninstall programs you never or very rarely use. Do an updated antivirus scan. Scan for spyware, adware, malware etc... using many available free tools. Defragment your hard drive. If you're still having problems, insert your windows installation disk, pull up the Command Prompt and type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes. Windows will scan all the system files and replace the missing and corrupted ones with fresh ones from the disk. You'll have to click on OK whenever a message window pops up telling you that windows wants to copy the system files from the windows disk. Reboot the PC. If still having problems, obtain a registry cleaner program like RegCure or similar (one that has good reviews) and run it. Reboot the PC after running such program. Backup your PC with something like Acronis True Image or at least set a new Restore Point before going any further. Run Windows Updates if not yet fully updated. By the way that clicking you're hearing that's your hard drive, processors don't make sounds, unless it's the cooling fan of course :)

Needs valve shems replaced or adjusted. Dirty oil can also cause it to do that.

You need to go thru the carb.s again. Looking closely for very small holes in any of the jets. Next will be to sync the carb.s together.
