Amount of oil it holds

SMR's only hold about a liter. My 2007 SMR510 only held a liter of oil. Use the good stuff and change it often!!! I never went over 700 miles on oil.

How much oil does a ktm 450 exc hold

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your inquiry.
The suggested amount is 1.2 L.

You can download the owners/service manual from this site. http://www.ktm.com/450-EXC.72.0.html?&detailview=4&cHash=dcbf8829e1
Just a note:
I have the same bike and 1.2l of oil will NOT register in the sight glass. I can't even see it in the bottom of the glass. SO IGNORE THE GLASS IF THIS HAPPENS AND DO NOT KEEP ADDING OIL TILL YOU SEE IT IN THE SIGHTGLASS. Add 1.2 liter if you are changing the filters, and add 1L if you are keeping the old filters in there.
Let us know if we can be of further service.
Kind regards,
TF

How hard is it to change left side gasket for an 05 450 ktm sx.my oil is leaking

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your inquiry.
This is a relatively simple process. You should be able to lay the bike over and disassemble the side case cover that's leaking and replace the gasket. You may have some minor interference with the radiator shroud.

Changing the oil on 2008 KTM 450 SX. How much oil as I dont have manual

I have looked but am at a loss to find it also.
If you drain the oil, refil it with the same amount and then check the levels adding as required.
Hope this helps.

How do i drain the gas in a ktm 50cc 2004 sx model

Easiest way to get it all out is to remove the petcock. Tilt the tank until all gas gets to the petcock hole.

I have a 2007 560 smr. I rode to work , 7 miles, got there and the engine oil was pushing out.

The engine may have been over-filled with oil, or the crankcase venting system hose is plugged. It may also be a bad oil seal on any shaft that penetrates the engine/transmission case.
