hi, i would like to advice you check the electronic idle speed control valve and also check engine coolant temp sensor. The ISC (idle speed control valve) is located somewhere below the throttle valve. the engine coolant temp sensor is located near distributor. it has a two wire connection. the sensor connector is usually green
Hey John!
Have you check the OIL some of these engine have a low oil shut-off sensor feature built-in ?
Check also that the fuel is not contaminated (Fresh Gas, please!)
Good Luck,
JP
Did you top up the oil? some cars will shut down when the oil light comes on it usualy turns off the fuel pump and is a safey design of the car to stop the engine in a roll over situation and can also save your engine if it runs low on oil.
If the pump is good, check the fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator. Also, if the truck has a factory installed theft deterrent system, it shuts off the fuel supply to the vehicle when it isn't working properly.
With all the work done I'll assume you've bled the system of all air? You may want to check the shut-off valve in the heater hose. Also, was the thermostat replaced with the same temp thermostat? Just a couple quick thoughts. I hope they help! Good luck!
could be the coolant temp sensor for computer it still may be within its peramiters so it wont turn check engine light on. what i would do is wait till another really cold morning hook up the scanner to your truck if you can get access to one take ambiant temp and campair it to the sensor they should be spot on for temp. and resistance values, good luck
PO195 is oil temp sensor malfunction reason car has no power is a fail safe comp is getting oil temp false reading as a protection feature engine will run in safe mode oil temp reads normal range engine failure can result from oil temp very high that will cause the oil to boil and not be able to lubricate engine boiled oil is same as using water
if the engine temp is ok test the wire to oil sensor for power and ground for the switch if power ground replace the oil temp sensor
Lean condition is a result of vacuum leaks, possibly at gaskets of upper manifold. You can check by spraying ether or carb cleaner at the gaskets with engine running. If engine revs at all, remove manifold to ensure gaskets properly installed.
Overheating: Make sure cable was reattached to temp sensor, and check for fan operation when engine gets hot.
