The odd part is neutral & oil light slowly blink on & off. I checked head light, ignition switch connections, loose wires etc. Nothing is dim, neither bad ground. Is it possible ignition switch could have carbon build up or a small bug dead on contacts? That happens on home A/C units a lot. If not? What? Help!
I just had the same problem. Bike quit, no lights or electric ('99 Capt. America chopper). New batt and regulator but still no headlights or running lights though the bike starts.
Turned out to be the control module. Searched all over to find a new one (the orig didn't have any numbers or anything on it whatsoever) and finally found out it was made by Thunderheart. They didn't make that one anymore (surprise), but they DO have wire adapters that will convert the old style electrical connections to the new one they make. If you have an EVO motor (like I do), you might contact them and see if they made it.
They DO fail, though mine lasted 19 years!...
