Hi Lennard:
Cars and trucks section but CR80 sounds like a motorcycle. right?
You need two basic things:
1) Spark - pull the spark plug, connect the lead, hold against the head, and spin it over. Spark shoulld be hot and blue.
2) Fuel - Drain tank and fill with fresh gas
Drain and flush carb
If it has a filter, make sure that fuel is flowing through it.
Try a "normal" start........... choke, kick over 5 times. If no start, remove plug and check for fuel in cylinder. Wet plug means no spark. Dry plug means no fuel.
If dry plug try priming the carb (give it a squirt of gas with choke off)
It should try to start.

Cheers.
Sound like the float in the carb is getting stuck the way to tell is loosen the screw at the very bottom or carb and see how much gas comes out it should run forever if only runs for a few secs the clean out carb
sounds like old gas, n carb can use cleanin put wire through were ur gas line gos on ull will have take carb apart wire should come out were jets r wen apart make sure clean carb good with old cloth n gas if looks clean ennuff try it out
It sounds as though the slow speed jets are partially stopped up. When you give it more throttle the high speed jets take over. Try using a good carb cleaner in it for a few tanks. If that doesn't work than you may have to go through the carbs.
Dump ALL old fuel out of tank, you might have got a clog in the fuel line, carburator, fuel valve. Remove carb bottom Sediment bowl then spray Carb cleaner thru the gas inlet AT the carb 3-4 secs CAUTION: KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK.. that cleaner hurts if you get it in your eyes... and NEVER SPRAY A HOT ENGINE (np with yours tho no start) Refill tank with NEW fuel (or strained at least if emergency remote repair) Place a suitable catch container over gas inlet line to carb (at carb) open fuel valve chk for fuel FLOWING (no dripping) into container. replace fuel line to carb start as normal
if not firing still chk that spark plug, might need cleaning now that rest is ok.
sounds like it is in the throttle sensor or idle control valve causing problem not responding fast enough to take over also try the fuel filter could be clogged.
Drain and replace the gas with fresh.
Remove the air cleaner and spray carb cleaner into the inlet. Work your throttle a little then put everything back together and try to start it.
