Engine misfire and cutting out when running at normal engine temp

The more older a vehicle gets the more attention it requires. Go to a reputed me hanic and clean up the carburettor airfilter and spark plugs as these three are the main components which help in the start stop and running of fhe bike also misfiring occurs mostly due to unclean carburettor newly fitted airfilter or if engine is running rich.

run the fault codes as misfire can be from injectors , low fuel pressure and ignition problems
all temp gauges will show a rise on stopping an engine as there is still residual heat in the block and heads with no water circulation and cooling
the fire from the exhaust indicates an exhaust valve is not closing properly so a compression test would be in order to check for valve problems or hydraulic follower problems

Sounds like a carburator or fuel injector problem,,,If carburator the automatic choke's heat sensor is sticking...if injectors, the elec tronic pick-up for engine temp is faulty.

My truck is doing the exact same thing. I have been told it is the Intelligent Power Distribution Module or IPDM. The Nissan Dealership that is working on my truck says $400.00 parts and labor to fix.

My friend, a motorcycle is not a Toyota pick up. Don't even try to fix it at this point of your motorcycle career.

By nature, air cooled engines have a wider range of normal operating temperatures. Even if your bike has a radiator, it is still more motorcycle engine than automotive engine.

Since this is your first bike, I recommend two things for you. First, seek out a Motorcycle Safety Training Course, such as the BRC from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Yea yea, I know, you know how to ride and maybe you do. If you take the course, you may get some good tips and probably a discount on your insurance. Second, take your bike to the Suzuki dealer and have them go over the bike mechanically for you to make sure all is up to snuff on your 11 year old bike. Get a tune up and ask the mechanic about your bike. What to lube, where the oil goes etc. You should become very good friends with your new motorcycle - believe me when I say - it is a far cry from driving any other kind of vehicle.

hi, if the truck starts and runs fine from cold but then starts playing up when it reaches normal running temp then has trouble starting untill it has cooled down if this is the case then i would say that your oxgen sensor(or lambda sensor for its proper name) needs replacing.
The reason it points towards this is that this sensor dont start working untill the engine is more or less up to temp so if this is when you start getting problems then this is what i would get changed first.

wrong plugs possibly installed, use standard range plugs i use NGK#8 and a lower octane for awhile see if that clears it up.

has this model got a conenser if so i would try changing that, sorry 2006 model

yes you should start it at least once weekly to maintain battery and keep engine lubricated, also it keeps fuel flowing through the bike. but dont just start up then switch off, make sure you get it up to normal operating temprature, this keeps moisture out of the engine oil.

it could be thermosat...i would also check EGR valve the are common to stick out and cause misfires
