NOTE: The cylinder rods should be in the fully-retracted position.
  1. Remove pump and motor as outlined.
  1. Remove the upper and lower hose fitting from the folding top hydraulic cylinder (50600) . Use absorbent rags or a container to catch any hydraulic fluid that leaks out when removing the fittings.
  1. Remove each of the service cylinder plugs one at a time and attach the hose fittings. NOTE: Be sure each fitting is installed in the correct position on the folding top hydraulic cylinder .
NOTE: Make sure that the tetra seal is installed in the bottom of each of the folding top hydraulic cylinder ports before attaching the upper and lower hose fittings.
  1. Connect the folding top hydraulic lift motor and plate kit (533A00) to a 12-volt power source and cycle the folding top hydraulic lift motor and plate kit in and out several times to purge the air from the hoses. Some noise squeal may be noticed due to the air.
  1. Carefully remove the rubber fill plug from the back and the reservoir and check the fluid level. The level should be at the bottom of the filler hole. If necessary, add Synthetic Mercon® Multi-Purpose Automatic transmission fluid E6AZ-19582-B (ESR-M2C163-A2) or equivalent.
  1. Replace the fill plug with a new fill plug.
  1. To install, reverse Removal procedure.

SOURCE: top will not close clk 430 mercedes benz

did you recently have a dead battery? Either way try to resynchronize your windows (i'm not sure if you meant front window or rear quarter window). If you hold the window switch in the up position(car running and door closed) untill window reaches the top and continue to hold for 10 seconds the window will reprogram itself. try both front windows. This system is complicated and is best diagnosed via s.d.s. diagnostic machine. I will give you a couple of other possible easy remedies. If your vehicle is equiped with a ski window in the rear trunk panal the door must be shut, also your cargo cover must be shut and plastic lid secured. There are numerous micro switches that input to your soft top control unit-any one could cause the top to be inop. Check to make sure the switch on the cargo cover( retractable cover in trunk) is secured to it's housing, they do periodically fall off. Also if your roll bar ( rear head rests ) has been mechanically deployed You must hold the switch in the up position untill the rams lock back into the roll bar-does the roll bar operate? Always operate top with vehicle running because they are very voltage dependent. Your owners manual will explain how to manually raise top and some simple operation and repair remedies. If you are knowledgable about automotive electrical systems you can disconnect both leads from the battery and touch them together to drain the capacitors and it may reset the module( do not attempt if you are not knowledgable with automotive electricity because there are many things that can go wrong. hopefully I have been helpful.

SOURCE: Convertible top on 98 mitsubishi eclipse spyder will not retract

There are 2 motors in the back located behind the speaker pannels on each side of the back seat. fist make sure they are both working. second there is a switch inside your trunk on the drivers side loceted behind the trim pannel to the tail light to switch from motors to manual top removal. third if your still lost the suport bar closest to the front of the top (not the one against the window with the clips) but the silver one has 2 smal black piviting bars on each end that sometimes get stuck try manualy removing the top and pushing that bar to the back of the car. Hope this helps you

SOURCE: convertible top will not close /open

I have had this problem with my 2005 S4 Cab - sometimes the top will not latch. I have found that this was because the fabric near the rear passenger window was not folding into place over the steel structure. I just back up the top and made sure the fabric unfolded and all was well.

SOURCE: 2003 Nissan Maxima. Passenger power window problem

Same problem on passenger door 92,000 miles. Dealer said he can reset the regulator inside the door by pressing button. I am looking for more information on this problem too. He estimates 1/2 hr (~$50) to do work.

SOURCE: PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW WILL NOT STAY CLOSED.

most likely the window regulator is bad the buicks have a lot of problems and most of the time it is the cable but you usually have to buy it as a unit with the motor.

Testimonial: "THANK YOU. I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE INSIDE COVER AND LINER AND FOUND A CABLE WRAPPED AROUND SOME- THING. WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE WINDOW GLASS BY HAND (TO THE CLOSED POSITION AND PUT EVERYTHING BACK AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE A MEC IN NIC TO REPLACE IT. THANKS AGAIN. OH THAT IS MECHANIC..... )"

Convertible top is stuck in the down position. Says top not secure. Looks like drivers side arm is not in the locked position but passenger side is locked

If you are dealing with a convertible header that gets into a bottom position and displays a "Top Not Secure" message, it is important to follow systematic troubleshooting procedures and it can fix the problem Here are the steps you can take: Manual Override: Check your vehicle's manual for instructions on how to operate the convertible top manually. This may require stopping or using certain devices to manually feed the top. If the top binds due to electrical or sensor problems, crafting can provide a temporary solution to protect the top. Check for obstructions: Check the area around the top of the convertible for any obstructions that may be preventing proper closure. Attachments in the frames or devices may interfere with safe closure of the top. Driver's side arm: If you mark the driver's side arm out of the locked position, try to gently rotate the arm and place it in the locking mechanism. This may include a lock or lock which must be securely fitted and protected. Passenger side arm: Since you said the passenger side is closed, check if there is anything preventing it from opening. Sometimes a small or poorly organized obstacle can cause problems. Sensor check: Reversible tops usually have sensors to detect that the top is properly closed in place. These sensors block the top if it is not properly closed. Check for clogging, dirt, or malfunction of any of these sensors. Battery Voltage : Low battery voltage can sometimes cause electrical problems that prevent the top from working properly. Make sure your car battery is in good condition and fully charged. System Reset: If your vehicle has a control module for the convertible top, you can reset it

BMW while truly an innovator. Also designs some of the most complicated electrical systems imaginable!! What worked for me was essentially a master reset. Now I didn't have the convertible, but I imagine the principle still applies. Try disconnecting the positive battery lead for about 20-30 seconds. this should do a "reboot" of your car's OS. Hopefully reverting to factory settings for all functions, including the programing for the top.
Good luck,

Convertible top

make sure your car is in park and that you have your foot on the break....if you release your foot it will stop. So keep your foot on until it is fully open or fully closed and the passenger seat has returned to where you had it set prior to opening or closing
