SOURCE: oil level YZ 125

Hello....for the crank case you will want to use Yamalube 4 (10w-30) or an equivalent SAE 10W-30 SE motor oil. There is not a dip stick on the bike, Need to measure teh oil in accordance with Yamaha specs. You will need to check the owners manual or contact the local dealer service department and should be able to tell you how much needs to be added. If you don't have good 1qt mix cup you can get one at a good motorcycle shop. These are very help full in accurately measuring your premix oil for the fuel as well. Hope this helps

Synthetic motorcycle oil is a must. The book probably recommends 5w30. There is a ton of videos on youtube for your bike, including the oil change, some great tips. Check them out. It would take me hours to explain it. Hope this helps.

How much oil and what kind 1982 yamaha vision

It will take about 2 quarts. Don't you have a owners manual with your motorcycle?

Drain the oil, replace the plug, add one quart. check the dip stick, slowly continue to fill until you get to the proper level as indicated on the dip stick.

If you have not made friends with the guy or gal at the Yamaha Parts Department, you should go do that now. They will be a great source of information to you in the future.

Find and use your owners manual.

What type of oil is used on the transmission of a yamaha virago 535? an how many quarts would you have to put in it?

To change your oil you will need 4 quarts of oil, a filter, and a new aluminum drain plug washer. You can reuse the old drain plug washer if it has not been squished out of shape. Your motorcycle comes from Yamaha usually with 20w-40 mineral base motorcycle oil. You can use any oil that is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10w-40 for cold climate. 20w-50 for warm climate/touring. Car oils use different additives and may cause scoring in certain types of cam bearings. Do not use any oil that says " Energy Conserving " on the label . It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. If you choose Synthetic oils, they will help your bike run cooler and shift easier. Pour in three quarts of oil and add enough from the fourth quart to reach the high mark on the dip stick or inspection window. Make sure the motorcycle is upright or on the center stand when checking the level . You will probably need 3.1 to 3.4 quarts to hit the high mark. Run the motor for a minute or two to fill the oil filter compartment with oil. Now recheck the oil level and top up as needed.

How do i check the oil level on a yamaha tw125?

check oil once the engine has been off for a few mins undo dip stick or look in window whatever you have hold bike level and clean the dip with a rag then dip the stick in till it stops dont screw it in to check the level pull it out and it should be on the upper line or mark if you have a window it should be on the top line if you need to top up just a 1/4 of a litre at a time the bike only holds one litre.

How to check oil on my bike

There are usually two methods to check the oil. One is a dipstick and the other is a sight-glass. You should have one or the other somewhere on the side of the engine crankcase. It should be fairly obvious and not require the removal of any body panels. If you can't find a dipstick in the side of the crankcase you will need to get down on your hands and knees and have a look for a sight-glass instead. This will be like a tiny window with a gauge against which you can check the level.
