Sorry to hear your bike stopped - There are way to many possibilities for this but the best advice i can give would be two things, (1) get a leak down test done (at shop if you don't have tools to do this) It will give accurate answers to if compression is low or valves are leaking etc (2) Check to see if you have spark to spark plug by kick starting bike with the spark plug connected and laying on the head of motor ( should be a nice clean blue spark)
if you have no spark then almost guarantied you need a new stator installed but this can be easily tested with a multimeter to confirm before you buy new stator let me know if you want more detail on tests etc
good luck mate regards Jamie

First sign of a detonated piston is aluminum on the spark plug, if there is nothing there do a simple compression test. This will tell you the integrity of the top end.

I have a yamaha yz 250f 2006 bike will not start on kick start but will start with a push

if the bike push starts, i assume it runs good,
if the kick does not turn motor over, there is a spring clip that engages the kick gear that may be broken or misplaced
if the kick start turns the motor over, you have to use decomp to get just past TDC then kick

My yz125 dosnt start was running died out when

check the compression with a compression tester. you may have burnt the ring out on the piston. if you don't have a compression tested you should buy one and test is right but if you remove the spark plug and stick your finger over the hole while you push the kick starter down it should force fully push your finger off. if so you have compression if not then you don't have compression and need to redue the top end.

if you have compression check for spark by taking the plug while it is still out and plug it back into the wire and rest the tip of the spark plug or side of it on the head and push the kick starter again. you should see the spark plug spark at the tip. if so it's good and if not you may have a bad coil or something in the ignition system.

but check that and et me know and i can further assist you.

While riding my yz 125 it just died and won,t kick up again

  • If a hole in the piston then install new piston and rings. Next, clean the carbon off the head and install a new head gasket.
  • If cylinder wall is scared the piston has seized up. Pull the cylinder off and take it to the dealer. Have them bore the cylinder and return it along with a new oversize piston and rings.
  • While at the parts counter, get a new stock spark plug and a supply of Yamalube Two Stroke Motor Oil. You need to add 4 ounces per gallon when filling up. This will be a 32/1 gas to oil ratio. NEVER ride the bike without at least the needed 32/1 mix.
Please rate the solution as a "FixYa" if able. Thanks!
