My speedometer is off by almost 10 mph. How do i
HI YOU COULD TRY CHECKING THE GEAR RATIO, AS THE SPEEDO DRIVE IS FITTED TO THE FRONT SPROCKET, ANY CHANGE IN THE MACHINES GEARING IE SMALLER OR LARGER SPROCKETS WILL HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE MACHINES SPEEDOMITER READING, AS WILL A CHANGE IN TYRE SIZE
I have a 07 Gsxr
The clutch cable is the first place to check as it's a high failure rate part and also the easiest to fix. It you can see the clutch arm with the bike assembled, pull the handelbar handle and see if the arm moves all the way. under the counter shafts sprockets cover is the arm and it's adjustment screw it could have backed out or is brocken. You may be able to remove this cover and watch it operate. Does the handle bar lever pull in with the normal amount of play and feel? Most bikes that have been sitting though the winter can have stuck and now the cable or the clutch is stuck or broken. The clutch that was working and not the very next use probly not the clutch it's self but the cable and or the handle bar or linkage. Remove the cable and see if it moves smoothly if it binds at all or catches or requires any force to move or turn the cable in the housing it's bad and needs to be replaced. the aftermarket cables are cheaper and better than orginal equipment and can be aquired though the bike bandit ONLINE In the USA they ship to you in a few days and if your an AMA motorcyclist member you can get a 10 % discount and if your all the time rider the other benifits will helpyou too.
How i wire a GSX-R 600 year 2003 ignition
there is a resistor inside the ignition on the black box you need, twist the RED and ORANGE wires, the orange wires are actually one wire split into two further down by the connector so cut the red and orange wires from here. you then need to join the ORANGE/YELLOW wire to one end of the resistor and the BLACK/WHITE wire to other end, clean up and protect with electrical tape and snip other two wires, you dont need them. now can you tell me what colour wires connect to each other on the right handle switch, i need to know the colours of the wires on the switch side where it connects to the main wiring harness (both sides plz say which is which!!) cheers mate
Suzuki gsxr 600 06 starting problems
200° is quite warm...
If the engine wont turn over, probabily you have a bad battery, a bad starter or a bad starter relay, or bad connections.
A hot engine has more compression. If the full battery power doesn't reach the starter it won't turn over...
Not getting fuel to the engine 1998 Suzuki GSX-R 600
1. Make sure tank has fuel and is not stopped up. Make sure petcock is clean. If this is a vacuum feed - make sure the vacuum hose is not cracked or have any leaks. Disconnect the fuel like going to the carbs , then use a manual vacuum gage to pull vacuum on the petcock to see if it fuel from the carb lines. If it doesn't, you have isolated the issue! If it does flow fuel, reconnect the carb fuel lines, then remove the float bowls from the carbs then repeat the process, If no fuel is flowing out, you have found the problem, If it does flow, you fixed it
XL7 rear hatch won't open - no sound from switch
I was able to get the fingertip pad out of the liftgate by removing the two screws which hold it to the body of the liftgate. Once you detach the clip for the wiring harness, the rubber pad comes right out. Remove all 5 or 6 of the little screws to expose the inner workings. I then just used to solder to join the corroded parts which fell off long ago and it works fine. Here's a lousy picture! 2008 SUZUKI XL7 LIFTGATE
My 92 gsx600 I have a problem where I get plenty of juice out of the positive to my coil but my ground is weak from the coil to the ignition box
I suggest you check the circuit diagram to discover whether the ignition system is a true Capacitive Discharge Ignition or whether the electronic box of tricks is a programmed amplifier that effectively replaces the old fashioned contact breaker.
There are few genuine CDI systems due to the size, complexity and the lethal level of their output. Most systems are the latter type where the current flows through the ignition coil to the amplifier where it is grounded as if by a contact breaker. When the engine rotates a trigger causes the amplifier to suddenly switch off breaking the circuit so the collapsing magnetic field of the coil primary winding induces a spark from the coil secondary winding.
The trigger could be an optical type, a hall effect generator or most commonly a magnetic reluctor type.
When the engine is stationary the programmed amplifier usually switches off after a few seconds preventing the relatively high current flow from overheating the coil and discharging the battery making checking the system difficult to check by conventional methods.
