How to deal with a helmet that rides up your forehead

Many people just buy a helmet off the shelf put it on their head feel that it is a good fit then buy it. A poor fitting helmet is not comfortable nor is it safe.
the correct way to buy a good fitting helmet takes a little more than this.
firstly select the helmet that you like.
second find the size that fits nice secure it then do these simple tests.
reach over your head grasp the helmet by the top just above the eyeline then pull the helmet up, if the helmet lifts then it is the wrong size or type, reselect find the helmet that will not pull up or only pulls up a tinny bit. As at high speed it will feel like it is trying to pull your head off.
now grab the helmet by either the jaw line (in the case of a full face helmet) or with both hands around where your ears are try to twist the helmet from side to side you want very limited movement here too. Hope this helps.
ALL HELMETS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. stay upright folks.

Are there whitewater helmets for kids?

Definitely! The most important thing about helmets is the fit. So kids must have helmets fitting their head perfectly. Take a look at the following websites: http://www.coloradokayak.com/Kids-Kayak-Helmets/ or http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product_list.asp?deptid=1922

Are one-size-fits-most Helmets any good or should I prefer a more fitted helmet?

These types of helmets are good because they can be adjusted. They have a custom fit system that allows you to adjust them to different head sizes. This way you can actually have 1 helmet instead of 2 in case that you and your family members are not rafting together.

how to fit a snowboard helmet?

"Getting the right fit is the most important factor to consider when buying a Snowboarding Helmet: 1. Measuring Tape. Your helmet size is determined by the circumference of your head. Wrap a measuring tape around your head to get your helmet size. 2. Align the front of the helmet above your eyebrows and hold both straps until the helmet fits well. 3. Make sure there are no unwanted gaps between the helmet lining and your head. The back of the helmet should not touch the back of your neck. 4. The helmet should fit snug and nicely. 5. Try one of your favorite pairs of Snowboard Goggles and make sure they fit properly on your helmet. Please note that the producers of helmets all have different ideas on the shape of a human head. Although the size might be right, the shape of the helmet might be different from the shape of your head."
