it sounds like the starter gears are not engauge it has 2 gears one appyls the other they are inside the motor under the magneeto side they are exspensive to replace I have one its sounds like a weak abendix and fails to spin engine

Should be a 10mm or 12mm headed bolt in the shifter, remove it and pull the shifter off, push the new one on reinstall the bolt.
