No headlights

Most likely the start switch that has burnt out. The switch disables the light while starting, and switches them back one once you let the button go. At times corrosion in the switch or burnt contact will prevent the lights from coming on again. Always best to fit a load relief relay so that the start switch only operates the relay and the load from the headlight is taken up by the relay.

I have a harley softail deluxe 2009 my headlight don;t work when key is turned on low beam my question is if the low beam burn out, the passing lamps didnt work ?

The blinkers should work independently of the headlight unless you have a blown fuse. Check the voltage at the plug on the back of the headlight.

My 2007 Suzukidl650 will not sart when start

Check to see if there is power to the starter solonoid or starter motor when the starter button is pushed. There could be a fault there.

My 2007 DL 650 suddenly

Hi,

Have you tried boosting it? Maybe its turning over too slow to fire? The fuel is from when you poured the gas into the tank. Some of the fuel must of hit the rim of the filled pipe and is now dripping out the over flow tube. The same thing would happen if you over filled the tank. Forget about the fuel unless it continues to drip for a prolonged time. Try opening the throttle until it starts. It's a common situation in hot weather with bikes having a charcoal canister.

Please get back to us if you have any further query or else accept the solution.

Thanks for contacting fixya.com

Oil dripping slowly an the bottom of the engine,

When the oil was changed did you replace the sealing washer on the drain plug. Some times it falls in the oil pan and is not put back on or replaced. Typically there is a soft copper or aluminum sealing washer that gets squished by the bolt when you tighten it.That is what actually keeps the oil from leaking out. The other possibility would be a popped or blown seal or gasket. Wash the engine and find out exactly were it is leaking from then you will know what action to take.

I washed my V-Strom 650 yesterday and now it won't

It's probably just the the clutch ignition wiring clip located directly underneath the clutch lever. It seems to come unplugged fairly easily. I had the exact same problem and this was the quick fix.

Dl650 can't adjust left side mirror down far

Loosen the screw (or bolt) that clamps the mirror mount to the handlebar so that you can rotate it just enough to get the mirror into an adjustment range that suits your needs. Then snug everything up when you're done.

I took off a bash

If you look down by where the sidestand bolts in, there is an electrical plug. This is the kick stand safety switch. When it is out, it will not let the bike start in gear, or stay running when put into gear. The switch is either not making contact with the kick stand, or was damaged during removal or installation. To bypass this safety feature just twist the two wires together. Hope this helps...

05 suzuki dl650 keeps blowing fuel fuse

Sounds like a faulty fuel pump, also make sure the fuse is the correct rating. If there is anything else on that circuit, check for shorts to ground individually. Has anything else been added to the electrical system, if so it could be overloading the fuse.

Co7196 thank u but Re 05 suzuki dl650: yes, it

If you have tried all the usual things it could be that the starter needs a new set of brushes. From memory the Starter is at the front of the engine behind the exhaust downpipe, it should be relatively easy to get out. To check use a multimeter on the main power lead on the starter and try to crank it, if no voltage look elwhere, if there is voltage then the brushes would be worn.

05 suzuki dl650 will not start and no indication

Follow the battery +positive cable and it will take you to the relay . Chke all connections on the relay. Then chk the negarive cable for good connection to battery and where it's bolted to the frame.I am assuming when you say won't start and mention the starter and relay, you are really saying it won't crank over. Right?

I want to tknow the steps of changing oil in the

14mm wrench. 2. An oil filter wrench, if you're changing the filter. Either a 3/8" drive ratchet or a 17mm wrench to turn the oil filter 3. Oil--you need about 3 quarts of 10W/40. I use synthetic motorcycle oil, MOTUL, but any good oil will probably be fine as long as you change it. Oil filter, if it's being changed--Suzuki pn# 16510-34E00. As a minor note, the sv650(s) needs 2.9Q of oil if you also change the filter, rather than merely changing the oil without changing the
filter (2.4Q). 4. Newspaper, something to catch oil in and a rag. Drain the oil from a warm engine by removing the 14 mm nut on the bottom of the engine on the left side, having first spread newspaper under the bike and put your catch pan underneath. Remember that bolts mostly come out counterclockwise (Righty tighty, Lefty loosey). For directionally challenged, you might have to lay on your back to figure this out. Also remove the filler plug on the right side of the engine to help drainage. If you don't know which is the filler plug, check your owner's manual to find out--under oil. If you're changing the filter, remove it using your special tool. To replace the oil, screw in the drain plug. It should be pretty tight, but don't put all your weight on it. Replace the filter by putting some oil on the gasket, and then turning the filter on till you feel the gasket contact the engine. Using the special tool, tighten it two turns more. Pour oil into the filler, 2.4 US qt, 2.0 imp qt, or 2.3 liters. Start the bike and run it a few minutes. Turn it off and holding the bike level, check the oil level in the sight glass on the right side of the engine. If it's above full, drain a bit out, if below low, add a bit more. Pour the oil into a jug and take it to a recycling center or gas station for disposal, don't just pour it out. Throw away the newspapers, go wash your hands, and go for a ride!
