Clogged fuel petcock or dirty fuel filter.

I have a 2001 Suzuki vz800 marauder. I'm doing the front fork seals but I dont know exactly what weight I need to put in the fork. Some say 10w and some say 30w. Can you please help

Yes might be a wiring issue, visit bike wiring works near you

It appears the carbs may have a small fuel leak and dry out over a 24 hr period , check for a external leak, also check the main jets are tight and leak free.

Are you running the correct grade of gasoline? You are describing ignition ping/premature detonation.

Can you hear or feel the pump humming when you make contact? Also check the hose from the tank to the pump.

sounds like the main jet (float rest against) is blocked or installed upside down. hence fuel in bowl but not in cylinder

Hi,rather than jumping the gun as the bike was running fine before you had new battery fitted,I would say to have the starter checked first.good day to you.

I bet it's either the killswitch, the safety switch in the kickstand or the starter solenoid. I used to have one of these bikes and the kick stand switch was a pain...totally removed it.

When you check it it will be out of specifications if it is loose.

Sounds like your fork seals need replacing.

this is an air intake problem check the air filter is clean also check air filter is the same model as original as some air filters require a carb retune to function properly

Starter clutch. Not uncommon on Suzuki. Not a budget killer if you can do it yourself. Get a service manual.

either a stuck valve (unlikely) or more than likely someone let the bike set up too long with old gas in carbs....If that is the case the low speed jets have to be removed out of the carbs & cleaned...

find the throttle stop and there is a screw to adjust it

sounds like a fuse or loose plug in connector issue

Many of the Suzuki's including Boulevard, Intruder and others have cut off switches in the kick stand. As long as the stand is down the engine will die when shifted into neutral.
