Sounds like the drive from the gearbox not connecting or the clutch not releasing.

check your pick up coils

switch coils around to verify which ones are good

depending on the year it is in the fuel pump which is the bottom of the gas tank

check list , plugs , points , valve clearances , old fuel , slipping clutch

Clean carbs check for spark check that all your vacuum lines are in good shape and check for compression

Sounds like You may need to look at a few things,[1] Check Your fuel filter[2] carbs may be full of dirt[3] check for vacuum leaks[4] carbs may need to be re-synced[5] possible carb rebuilding time
