If it dies when being put in gear, it could very well be the safety wire on your kickstand. check and make sure the stand is up all the way

if you mean the bike went down on its left side ie the clutch lever side then i would check the safety switch on the clutch lever this has most likely been damaged.

You must remove the fuel tank, turn off the fuel valve then remove the seat cushion then the bolt at the rear of the gas tank that retains it to the frame, pull back on the gas tank and lift up, once the tank is free, mark all the wires and hoses attached to the gas tank so you can have a guide to reinstall them. Now remove the plug wire boots from the valve covers, DO NOT use pliers, you will crack the insulators and end up with a misfire, work the boots back and forth in a twisting motion to break the rubber free of the spark plugs, once the boots are removed you will need an 18mm Spark plug socket and a short extension and 3/8" drive ratchet to remove the plugs, Gap the plugs and reinstall them, do not over-tighten, about 15 foot pounds is all that is needed. Reverse to assemble. I also recommend you use a bit of Silicone grease inside the plug boots to ease installation and future removal.

Get yourself one of the old style tube spanners with a series of holes for screwdriver to use as a T handle. The tubes come in all plug sizes and a myriad of legths or you can cut it to size yourself. They're about $12. Or a chain link, flexi drive, T-handle with attachable sockets for way way too much! Bike accessories stores will have both, but is a little cheaper to buy from Auto stores.

Get down to the motorcycle shop and talk to the parts guy about accessories. If he or she don't have or can't get, they can give you lots of ideas.

This symptom could cover a WIDE range of problems. Lets start with simple stuff. Put new spark plugs in it. Pay attention to the ones that come out and where they came from ( is the front one white and the rear oil fouled?). Make sure your tank has nothing but fresh fuel in it. Then, check your ignition wiring for faults/ bad connections.
Hopefully that sovles your problem and you find something obvious. If not you need to methodically determine if its a ignition, fuel, or compression issue.

yes buddy you can check the ohms but requires a ohm metre basically if the sprak looks descent then its fine if its dull and dark get back to me buddy

yes you can, but cam chains never fail on this engine, the cam chain automatic tensioner does.

I think you are saying that the exhaust on your bike is rusted so it looks bad and the bike is noisy because the muffler is bad. You can get a brand new exhaust system at Babbitt's for about $830.00.
Google " motorcycle salvage suzuki " and you might find what you need there for a whole lot less.

In any case, you need to take the gearbox apart. After that you renew all bearing anyway and check the other components as well.

You need to have the factory repair manual, and also a flywheel puller specific to the model you have. It involves valve timing which is very critical that it is correct, so the manual is a must.

Have you checked the fuse located at the starter solenoide, follow the battery poss lead untill it connects with the solenoide, most solenoides have built in a 30amp fuse under a red plastic cap, check this out first, hope this helps, paul

If your bike only runs with choke on, then the carb and floats are dirty and need to be cleaned out.
